Got the same call here today. No-one on the other end. When I researched google it said it was from the National Diabetes Dept in Ottawa.  This showed up on a PDF file for the national Diabetes Dept. Could be a misprint, I suppose.

Received a call from this number at around 8:00 a.m.  The caller had an oriental (Chinese?) accent, read off my phone number and asked me to confirm it.  I did not; I asked him who he was and why he was calling instead.  He said he was [first name unclear] Daniels (or something like that) and went into some Internet security spiel.  I said, "I simply don't believe you" and hung up on him.  Had to be a scam fishing for access to my PC.

Called saying they were doing a survey.  I asked about what.  No answer was given and a mention was made of a daily giveaway.

Just got a call from this number. It was obviously a computer voice (and a bad one at that) with a British accent. I hung up immediately and lodged a complaint with the National Do Not Call List:

that phone number used to be at 130 slater st. unit 760. it was for diabetes then... Could the new tenant have taken the number??  there are phone survey companies in that building, well one at least, "elemental data".I don't think this is them though...

The guy's a scammer, he called me representing Microsoft today, a couple weeks ago I had him going really good, and I asked him how the kids were, since I could hear them fighting in the background.

The phone calls are coming from somewhere in this square. Laurier/Somerset(running east/west) and Elgin St/Queen Elizabeth Drive(Running North/South)

I warned him next time I'm reverse tracing the full way and coming to his house. Lets see if he calls again.

I received the same call about a survey(688-2311), i did answer some questions I also did not give accurate information and started asking questions about the company, the woman on the other end had a Indian accent and wanted my name.  Questions asked: do you recycle, do you work if so what do you do, do you work full time or part-time, do you own or rent the house you live in etc... very bizarre questions.  I hung up ...gives me the creeps.

I just got a call from this number. He asked for me by name (thick Indian accent) and said he was calling from the windows service center and was calling about my computer problem. I was like "what computer problem?" and he hung up. Ughh..

613-688-2311 has called 5-6 times in the past week, both times asking if I could answer their survey questions and proceeding without telling me what company their calling from and whether or not I agreed to do the survey. First time it was a woman asking whether or not I recycled and the jobs held by the people in my family, and the second time a man. When I asked the man what company he's calling from, I think he said SPD. I told him to stop calling my house and take me off their caller's list, and he got mad and told me he would call everyday, then hung up.

I am getting calls from this number every single day I don't know who is this stupid idiot when I answer he hang up

I get this number when a friend is using a long distance savings calling card, the number is the calling cards local (Ottawa) number it sends calls through. He usually calls when he is on the road between Toronto and Montreal.

I have 5-10 phone calls a day every day starting Monday July 5, 2010. We could see on call display only number 000-000-0000. Other day we had phone call from the same person, my son recognized his voice the number was 613-866-2311. The guy tried to sell some unknown drugs for $460.00 and asked the credit card number and offered to come to our house and bring the drugs. He knows our last and first names, our address and it is scares us a lot. I reported to police, but phone calls continue again and again. All our family is just sick and tired of this. I would appreciate it if somebody can HELP.

I am getting these phone call also.  I am with Bell.  I answer and no one is at the other end.  I call back and the line is always busy.  I have an option with bell to block phone numbers so that is what I will do.

I got a call from this number at about 6:00 p.m.on a saturday. The line quality suggested that this was a free internet call. The man spoke with an Arabic accent and greeted me in Arabic wrongly assuming I was Arab. He hanged up on me when I asked him why is calling my number which is listed as a no-call number.

Just got a call from this #. Picked up but nothing on the other line.

that # has been calling me for 2 weeks with the same Indian guy with the really bad english trying to sell me a bell cell phone. I asked him to his supervisor a woman came on i asked her whats the name of the company she said MTS ALLSTREAM she why i wanted to know i told her i was on the national do not call list and her company was violating that list and she hung up on me.

get daily calls from this number,  answered today and guy with thick accent said i won a free phone from bell,  would be shipping in 3-5 business days,  i asked him if he was from bell what is my acct # and he said he has my name, address and phone number on file from bell,  but no acct # because he's in the sales dept. ... it's a scammer, figured he was working up to trying to get a SIN or CC#... when i started questioning him he asked how old i was,  i told him 37 and he apologized... like he would have preferred a young person/kid he could fool... idiot

I just got a call from this number as well telling me I had some unpaid fines on my vehicle.. I thought it was a prank call so I hungup.. But it was a man and he sounded like a professional or a computer maybe...

We received 5 calls (3 calls yesterday and 2 calls today) from 613-688-2311. He also knows my son's name somehow. Did he know any of your names? He hangs up when asked the purpose of his call. When I tried to call back to the number, the system is busy most of the time and the system says "let bell notify you when the line is free within next 30 minutes, press star; $1.50 applies"

he called me too yesterday. he knew my name and he knew i was doing karate. He had a french accent. Do you have some informations on him? He kind of scared me !

This number showed up as the caller when I called using Skype. It's not always this number that shows up when I call from Skype. In fact, I think this is the first time it did. Strange.

This guy is calling from a free internet calling service he knows the first and the last names of the people he's calling and probably even more information which could have been subject to identity theft by him, he keeps calling repeatedly and leaves threatening and swearing messages on the voice message machine. he claims to be an old friend.

This could be a serious issue so please DO report him to your local police. Please help stop this.

I had a call from this number today.  A man with an Indian accent asked for me by last name (ie. Mrs. ___) and told me he was calling from the VISA/Mastercard verification department.  He said they'd received my profile in their department and that I qualified for a lower interest rate because I made my payments on time.  I told him I dont do business over the phone, especially via cold call and said goodbye.

I suspect they got my number from ads I posted when trying to sell my vehicle.  

I had been receiving the Windows errors calls for some time, so maybe they're changing it up now with the credit card calls.

This company called me 3 times today to conduct a survey.  haha you should hear their questions, I made it about half way - all with fake answers before I requested a manager.  The first 2 people refused to  send me to the manager, and just kept talking.  The third person sent me to the manager.

I asked her:
1) the name of the company = SBT
2) how they got my number = calling residential listings
3) if she was aware that she was breaking the law by calling me after I removed my name from the list over a year ago = "yes, sorry about" was her response followed by a hang up.

Why is it that they can ask 100's of questions, but can't answer more than 3?

This number has called twice in the past 24 hours. First time didn't pick up, second time nobody saying anything on the line.

I get calls from this number every day and when I answer, nobody replies.  Getting extremely annoying so I screened them out, whoever they are.  Can't be that important, otherwise they would talk to me.

i got the call at 4:50pm which was damn annoying. i dialed the number back, but got the busy signals only.

I just got the call three times consecutively of which I ignored all of them. I quickly searched on Google only to find out I'm not the only one.
