Make sure that when you call their 1-800-505-5525 to be taken off their list that you don't get really angry and yell "take me off your list!" then hang up the phone... they don't have caller-id so in order to take you off their list they actually need you to give your phone number! They will gladly take you off their list after that.

That's a horrible thing to do or even say Mystique. You're saying you do/ or are thinking of STEALING from a charitable organization? I mean those people go out each day and collect items and if you schedule them to come out to your house and don't do anything, they're only going to call you more and you're stealing their gas funds and taking from others' donation opportunities. Please THINK before you act as these people have jobs serving others as you and I. Simply COMMUNICATE politely the next time they call/you call- that you do not want to be on the list and you'll be taken off.

Could you please advise how one can be removed from this automated call list. Thank you.

Mr. Smith
Your reply was from Feb 2008....why is this still happening. I've requested by email and phone msgs to have my number removed from your calling list but still they call. WHY. This is a bad way of running your business. Trust me when I have clothes to donate I would probably give it to a company that doesn't peeve me off after several attempts to have it stopped. You may want to reconsider your work ethics.

Guys, you have to dial this number 1800-505-5525 and they will remove you from their list, they were nice about it. It was indeed Canadian Diabetic Association. I called them and they removed me.Yeah it was annoying and there was a silence when they called, hopefully they won't bother me again.

Please remove 613-591-3592 from your calling list. Thank you.
| So-ooo Frustrated 2011-06-06 20:52:33 Unknown |
Please STOP calling!!! Although I have donated to CDA in the past this is not the way to maintain my business!! I will re-direct my charitable clothes etc to someone else now as I am so frustrated with all these dead calls!

I've had the same problem with this number calling me repeatedly, over & over again, and never leaving a message. The reason there's nobody on the line when you pick up is because they're using an automated dialing machine. It dials 9-10 numbers all at once and the first person who picks up gets connected to a live person. The other 8 or 9 people who picked up a little later only get dead air on the line. If they didn't reach you the firs time, they'll just keep calling & calling & calling until you actually are the first person to pick up your phone.
It's annoying and disturbs my peace & quiet a great deal, not to mention that it interrupts my work, as I work from home. I've asked them repeatedly NOT to call here anymore, as I donate my used clothing somewhere else, but they STILL won't stop. So don't be fooled, if you request to be taken off the list, all that does is confirm to them that your line is active, so they'll just keep calling you.
Maybe the solution is to tell them that yes, you do have clothing to donate and then when they come to the door, don't answer it. Maybe if they make a trip out to your place for nothing, that's the only way they'll learn their lesson.
I will NEVER, NEVER donate anything to the Diabetes Association because of this annoying practice of theirs, and I've been telling all of my friends to do the same.

I just received another call from 613 688 4851. No one responded when
I answered, and within fifteen seconds, they hung up.
I an listed on the do not call list, and I have reported this number three
times before, and in no vain. What a louzy way to do business.

I agree with the other comments!... annoying calls from 613-688-4851.

I get calls from 613-688-4851 frequently. Always silent!
| Grrr 2011-06-06 20:52:33 Unknown |
I called here:
45 Montreal Road
Ottawa, ON K1L 6E8
Phone: (613) 521-1902
Fax: (613) 521-3667
and they took my number off the list. This is precisely why you should never give charities personal information.

I used to donate to CDA but then they stopped calling me and now all I get are phone calls from this automated service and no one says a peep! Annoying. I preferred talking to them in person!

The number listed is an automated dialer for Canadian Diabetes Association Clotheline Program, based in Ottawa, Ontario. Our office serves the Ottawa region and Upper Ottawa valley. We are not soliciting money, nor will we accept any if you offer to give a cash donation. Our staff are asking for any used clothing you may have. I suspect that if you have not given a donation in the past, the person who had your number before you may have given us a donation.
If you receive a call from this number, and wish to be removed from our call list, please ask to be removed, and your phone number will be immediately stricken from our records.
My apologies if our call has offended or annoyed you in any way. it was certainly not our intention.

Just got a call again, I listened in silence; its for the Canadian Diabetes Association, letting us know that they will be 'in our area' to pick up any unwanted clothing....
