The 614 calls all the time.  Also another number, both on my cell number.  If I don't recogninze the # I never answer.  If it is someone I know, but don't know the number I figure they will leave a voice.  No one from these phone numbers ever do.

I just called the number back and told them to stop calling me. They thought it was the number of someone else and I've had my phone number for 5 years... But they were at least very friendly about taking my number out of their system.

I get an automated message that just wants me to call 866-516-7676.  I didn't know till now who it was.  I figured, if they couldn't give a reason as to what they wanted, I didn't care about them.  The problem is, they keep calling.

I still don't care what they have to say if they can't leave a decent message but I do want them to stop until they can explain what they want.

Actually, I DO pay my bills - they still call me 3 or 4 times a day.  My account is not past due, it is not over the limit, etc ... and still the calls keep coming.  They even call my cell phone - a number that I have not provided to them.  If I slip and answer, then I get charged usage for their harassment.  Not cool.  I am calling today to complain.

Discover Card call.  Pretending the call is "to update their records."  Real reason was biling/collections department tried to get me to set up autdraft payments to them with promise of lower interest rate immediately and after 6 months an even lower rate.  Wouldn't give me lower rate unless I agreed to it.  Been customer since 1994 and until this past year have paid my account down to almost zero several times and had auto draft payments.  Having difficult time right now and asked for consideration for lower interest rate and they refused.

I do not even have a Discover Card, never did, and I still received a call from them on my cell.  I did call them back and they said that they did not even have me in their system.

My cell number is only used by family, so I am unsure how a credit card company that I have never used received my cell number that is only used by immediate family.

It is Discover!  I have my payment automaticatly taken out of my checking but because the payment was $19 short of the minmum payment they called not once but twice within less than a minute of each call and left a message on the first call that I did not pick up as I was checking here to see who it was they called again and I picked up because I knew they had already received their payment!!!!  OK it was my fault but a message and 2 phone calls within less than a minute for $19!!!  COME ON!!!!!!!  The woman did say something about a late fee but after I threw a fit about that she said it had not been applied yet and she would not charge me for making the $19 payment right then and there!  We'll see what shows up on the statement!!!!

I have received over 25 calls from this number in the last 8 days.  If I answer I get silence or a recording.  If I don't annswer, most times they do not leave a message; if they do it is to call an 866 number. I have complained to the FTC and to the Colorado Do NOt Call Registry. ----- I am the only one who lives at my number;  I do not have, and never have had, and hope never to have a Discover Card!!!  This is harassment.

This is Discover. They have called my number three or four times a week for about three months. I called them twice to explain their automated message was driving me nuts as I've never had a card from them. It made no difference and the calls kept coming. I called again to ask them to remove my number as I have no account with them. The rude little girl on the end told me it was their "right" to collect debts. Having already told them I've never had a card (nor likely to now) and got angry with her. Still the calls come and, every time, I file a copmplaint at donotcall.gov.

I have found out how they get our unlisted and unpublished numbers.  They have computers that dial random sequential telephone numbers, they dial each number, I mean each and every possible combination, in the hopes that some will be actual working lines, and that someone will answer the call.  It is a way of getting around the do not call list - it is immoral and unethical and an invasion of privacy and, more often than not, causes alarm for those who have not shared their telephone numbers.  It is a racket and needs to be addressed by those who are supposed to uphold the law.  I asked one of them how they got my cell phone number, they told me that I called them and responded, and I said, "no, I didn't, YOU called ME with a recording of some sort."  Since they took such great lengths to inconvenience me, I was checking the phone number on the internet, and reading then what others have posted about this "company".  The excuses this poor guy came up with, you just wouldn't believe.
614-283-1943 called, I answered, no one on the other end of the line.  Hung up automatically, then sends me a text telling me a payment is due for an account with a phone company that I don't have.

Messages left by this number are Definitely disconcerting.  The guy on the regular customer service line was totally flummoxed by the question, "Could this be Phishing?"  It'd be a great scam, though, perhaps tough to get away with, since you actually have to verify identity to get an 800 number, I'd assume...

No one in our household has had or applied for Discover Credit Cards. The credit card company we use is paid in full monthly. The cell phone number we receive calls from this number is a juvenile child's pay as you go cell phone that has been owned by us for over a year. Your company as well as other credit card companies are targeting and auto dialing pay as you go cell numbers-we've had a rash of these calls in the last 3 months, with messages left from different credit card companies looking for completely different names than what exist in our household.

These are the calls that have come in and the dates.....I have erased most of them but these are still on my phone. I do have a discover card and am behind in payments so it would be a legitimate collection effort, but April of LAST YEAR I agreed to have a bank draft on my 3 accounts. The one was $40, next was $60 and the 3rd was $100. It took over a year to get them to stop the drafts.....and then it was only because my b ank stopped authorization of drafts from that account on an ach basis. First they would draft with absolutely no description of the draft. Even my branch bank didn't have the description. They would do it through another branch and that's how they did it for months. I'd call them and tell them to stop the drafts and they said they would but each month they kept drafting. Then they defined it as a telephone authorizatioin and we went round and round with the bank stopping the drafting. I told the bank that I was not authorizing these drafts anymore. That originally I had authorized drafts on all 3 accounts, but not on a continuing basis......just one time only. So then the bank sent back the drafts to discover with an nsf message......sometimes the drafts would mess me up and make me overdrawn....so for a $40 payment being retd to Discover, I was charged $34 to the bank to return it, then Discover charged a returned payment fee and they would call me. I told them to stop drafting, they didn't. This happened with each account, each month, so figure $34 X 3.....sweet deal huh? The bank told me the only way I could get around this mess was to close my account, but I have a  business  and have dealt witht his bank for years so I wanted to keep it in place. As a result I've spent probably enough in nsf chargwes from the bank and return payment fees to more than pay off one of the accounts. I have since been told by Discover I could make my payments at Sears so I said I would do that. Now Sears is owned by Citi Bank. They were harrassing me last year with phone calls and email alerts, threats, etc.,,,,so I made copies of all tghe email nonsense Citi bank was sending me for my past due account...which I continue to pay each month. I sent the complaint to Houston Texas to The Comptroller of the Currency......WOW!..Instant results....Both Sears and CitiBank called me and sent letters from a special agency in Greensboro,Nc who identified themselves as the Presidential something or other to make sure this situation was corrected. Well it was corrected until a couple months ago when I noticed a draft once again for my Sears account. at $48/month. I have not addressed this issue as yet because I'm trying to accommodate a lot of creditors the best I can.
For those of you who actually read this and give a durn......about 5 years ago my husband was injured at work and hasn't been able to go back to work. He does not receive SS disability, but has just recently been picked up by the VA for his medical treatment. He gets early ss, and a small pension less than 100/mo. I am the sole provider in our family and was out of work for a whole year in 2010. I started a new job earlier this year, but am so far behind on everything it's a daily challenge to hang on. Meanwhile I get 6 to 10 calls from this number each day. They fill up my voice mailbox so no one else can get thru to leave me a message....which affects my business and my ability to conduct it. Anyway that's my story and I'm sticking to it. May it give someone the stren gth to keep on keeping on and remember, the Lord doesn't allow anything to come against greater than what He knows you can handle....and when you feel you can't handle it, know that He'll either take your hand and walk with you through it...or He'll carry you over it......trust HIM.

@ David.  Thanks, you self-righteous douche, and likely bill collector troll.  Not everybody who gets these calls has past due bills.
