Same info as everyone else.  I got one ring.  Called them from a separate line three times.  Got 3 different voices.  Sounded Eastern Indian, must be outsourced to India.

Got a call from this number today and they hung up after one ring. They did not leave a message. I do not think they are a bill collector because I do not have any past due bills they could be calling about. If I did I would hope there would be a message left.

Same as most people said; call, leave no message.  Go ahead, call back 37 times, at least you can't prey on some old widow while you're wasting your time calling me.  Bottom line with these bottom feeders - if I don't know the number I'm not answering when you call.  If you don't leave a message I'm not calling back.  Your number ends up on a contact named "telemarketers " and you definitely won't get an answer when you call.  Your automated messages aren't going to prompt me to call you back (they generally get cut off because it starts running when my voicemail picks up).  Continue calling after that...you get blocked.

Same thing. Rings once (on my cell phone, whose number I have NOT made public) and hangs up.  So I called back.  A cheerful female voice recording announces that because I've visited one of her companion websites, she'd like to send me a $100 gift card good at a number of local businesses, including Walmart and Best Buy.  Press 1 to receive card; press 2 to be put on their Do Not Call list.  So now the scammer knows my number is "live."  Stupid me.

The do not call list only works if a company is reputable. In the event it is a bill collector, they have the right to call you because they are trying to collect a debt whether you are on the do not call list or not. No one has to give out your number for people to call you. It doesn't take a genius to pick an area code like 714, then pick a prefix, like 655, and then dial all the number in succession. 714-655-0001, 714-655-0002, 714-655-0003, 714-655-0004 etc.

It is not your company giving out your number. I don't have any of those.

Yep, one ring. Then hang up. It could be a bill collector as someone else has mentioned. I do have an alarm company that I stopped paying because their system was crap. They had me stuck in a 3 year contract and I quit paying after almost 2. I did have people calling me before. They said I owed them $600. I told them I would give them $100 total to go away. They offered to take it as a down payment. I said no. They said they would put it on my credit. I told them to go ahead. I haven't checked my credit to see if they did though.

I get the impression that the Do Not Call Registry is as big a scam as anything else.  I've got three phone numbers registered and still get bogus calls on all three lines.  Until they make this a criminal offense, nothing will change!  Some of these scammer calls come from out of the country and any laws we might enact have no effect on them.  Bottom line is unless I recognize the caller on my caller ID, I don't answer.  Obviously, many calls go unanswered.

Only the legitimate companies abide by the Do Not Call list.  Since these idiots are running illegal operations, they don't care if you're on the list.

Telemarketer
Receive call on cell phone.  Only rings once.  Obviously another irritating scammer.  They want you to call back.  Makes me wonder, what if these people got these annoying calls on their personal phones.  Do you think they would be irritated?
I would never do business with anyone that uses these marketing tactics.  I guess they think they are cute.
What's happening nationally concerning the "DO NOT CALL LISTS"?  Does anyone followup and fine these idiots?
