I just got a call from this number asking me if I had ever invested in the stock market. I told him I wasn't interested and he said "I'm not selling you anything." I told him I didn't care and hung up. Indian accented man as well. Didn't tell me what company he was calling from but I totally wasn't giving them any info. Bad enough they knew my number and name.

Same story as many have already posted - well, at least those who haven't picked up. My partner has been getting calls for the past fortnight but has been ignoring it. We finally Googled the number - same as all of you, and posting here to join the 'p*ss off' in-crowd! :)

South Africa - Recieved a call from a woman on this number. She asked for me by name. Had a bad line, but she was going on about some opportunity. The call dropped. I Googled the weird number and found this site.

Got a missed call today (South Africa).

Weird im in christchurch and they have called me twice in 2 days!

I'm in New Zealand too and have received two calls, I didn't answer the one in this post but this morning I answered +1 (962) 640-8284 and it was a recording about getting a credit on the last flight I had, haven't been flying anywhere, ended the call immediately. After searching the number on Google I found nothing but the next call +1 (616) 597-111 was found here, didn't pick up of course and have subsequently blocked them.

I live in South Africa and literally got a call 1hr 30 mins ago - missed it luckily from the messages above.

Stupid schmucks phoned my private cellphone which is unlisted (or so I thought) - definitely won't answer the next time they call.

Literally just got a call 5 minutes ago. Looks as if the scam didn't work in one country so New Zealand is next . A***oles

I am in New Zealand, also.  Seems like we're the target country at the moment.  I answered once and it was a guy with an asian sounding accent telling me he was selling nothing just wanting to talk about investment advice, or something along those lines.  I was at work and blurted out "I'm too busy to deal with this rubbish right now" and hung up.  Getting "cold calls" from within New Zealand is pretty weird - so getting cold calls from another country just makes all the alarm bells go off!

Hopefully he'll just give up and stop calling me soon..

I'm based in New Zealand and have been receiving calls from this number for the past week  - thankfully I have missed them each time, but they are persistent.  They are calling at least twice a day each day, hence why I decided to search the number.  I will now block them.  Thanks for this website!

I am based in New Zealand. Have been receiving calls from this number over the last 6 weeks or so. Still haven't answered as unknown caller, or have missed the call. Now aware of this through this great site. Cheers. Will continue to monitor.

I been getting calls from this number ever couple of weeks but I never answered as it seemed fishy. I can't believe that the reports for this number go all the way back to 2007!!! So who exactly out there is trying to stop them?

Got this call from guy with german accent said he was from stock exchange offering good deals phone cut out (cell)

Asked if I had shares in the stock-market. To which I said no. And then he went on asking if I was interested in stock-market and I should give him my email address blah blah... When I told him I don't time for this.. He replied, this will only take 2mins. I said sorry but I must go now. He just hang-up.
He sounded American and he knew my name.

Just got this call - I didn't answer as I am in Cape Town (South Africa) and DEFINITELY do not know anyone in Ionia, MI...just as well in light of the comments above!

I am geting calls from this number 3-4 times a week  sometimes 1-2 times a day don't no how they got my personal mobile number as I live in new Zealand and caller id saying calls are coming from Michigan. Also I can't seem to be able to block the number.starting to get really anoyed. Any ideas on how I could stop this harassment would be greatfully appreciated

Got a call about a week ago - Indian man with thick accent - told me he was from Microsoft and they were picking up heavy e mail usage on my mail address (?) he actually quoted microsoft's physical address in SA correctly - he wanted my permission to get into my PC to find the problem - he put the phone down when I asked him for more info. I have just received a mail from this 06165971111 but no text - after checking the number (it originates in Ionia Michigan) I have chanced upon this chatroom. I'm sure the two episodes are linked ? Never stop being suspicious !!

Had the same call.  He asked for my husband's contact number, but hubby is out of SA.  Said she was from "Capital Research" - rather pushy and demanding.

Also in South Africa, just had a call from this number, which I ignored.
