I got a call few days ago,I didn't answered as I didn't recognized the number so hung up. I am glad I googled the number, thanks for all the info. This number is getting listed in my do not pick up list. I thought if its important someone will leave me a voicemail but no. Thanks for all the comments and info on it. Greatly appreciated.

i want to know who this is now!!!!!!!!!
paul 2013-02-15 17:05:20 Unknown
sobs are calling my cell #! what a pain, all they do is leave a voicemail which is a hang up auto-dialer apparently.
I note that the number of these scammer/boiler room calls has increased about 50 fold since 2009,and that the "Do not call " list is a total joke to these creeps. I must get 6 to 8 calls per day on both cell and landline from these time wasters, really infuriates me that the government does nothing about them.

they called my friend she showed me the number and the next day they called me!

I got this call also on my cell phone. The voice mail is the same about a vehicle, these warranty hackers are the worst. I don't know anyone from Boston either.

More then likely it is a computer progam that once an area code is entered it starts out with xxx-0001 and goes till it hits xxx-999-9999 .

Who is this and how did they get our number?
... 2013-02-08 22:02:11 Prank Call
This number has called me 4 times in the past 2 months. First 3 times, didn't pick up. They left a message (sounded like it was a pre-recorded message that somebody recorded with their phone's mic) saying my car warranty was about to expire. I don't have a car, thanks.
Called for the 4th time a few minutes ago, answered, and once I said hello they played the same message.
Don't answer. Seems like a prank call to me.

Just received a phone call from this number. Did NOT answer it as they were calling my cell phone and had their identities blocked. Dont know who you are so I dont answer. Not calling back as then they will know its an active number. Its a robo caller, if you call back, they know your phone number is active. No use reporting as that does no good. Just ignore, dont answer, dont call back and they will move on.

BTW - apparently, your number doesn't have to be listed or out there for anyone.
My cell number is only for friends and family. I don't give it out to just anyone, and I don't have it listed anywhere.
Since it's a Verizon pre-paid phone, and I know that my friends and family aren't stupid enough to put my number out there, either Verizon gave it out, someone working at Verizon shared it with the scammers, or the scammers hired a psychic who somehow just plucked my number out of the ether.

Just got a call from this number on my cell phone. Recorded message saying my car warranty was about to expire.
1. I don't have a car.
2. This is a pre-paid cell phone. I'm not going to waste more money putting more time on it if these freaks are just going to keep calling.
Too busy to answer 2013-02-07 18:33:29 Unknown
They called, I didn't answer. They left a voicemail but it was just a buzz and then it hung up.

Called, no message. Apparently it's spam.

I just got a call/voice mail from these people trying to scare me because my car warranty "may have expired." Duh! It happened years ago. Do they still get paid if we do not pick up and it goes to voice mail?

Called my Google Voice number. Google didn't pass it through, just sent a "missed call" e-mail without transcription.

The FCC has temporarily halted 7 minor unprofitable boiler rooms who will receive a slap on the wrist and be back at it within a few days. In the meantime the calls will continue since they are making money with what is called a CNAM revenue-sharing program through companies like http://www.telephonemanagement.net and http://www.CallerID4U.com
In their own words: 'Every day your company makes thousands of outbound phone calls. Every one of those calls generates revenue for many companies, why not yours? Our CNAM revenue-sharing program helps you make money every time a Caller ID request is made by a phone carrier. A high-traffic call center can lose hundreds to thousands of dollars a day to phone carriers by allowing them to charge for access to your own data.'
You can now see why the criminals keep calling even though they know you won't fall for their scam. They are making money even if you don't answer the phone. If someone does make the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their con then it is just icing on the cake for them.
What To Do When You Get an Illegal Robocall; http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/robocalls
1. Hang Up. Do not press 1 or any other numbers to get off the list and NEVER call them back
2. Consider blocking the number or on a cell phone add it to a contact list and assign NO ring tone
3. Report it at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
4. Report it at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
5. People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office
Register your phone numbers online at http://www.donotcall.gov or call (888) 382-1222 (must call from # you want removed).
There is a blog site that has information on one of these operations: http://telemarketerspam.wordpress.com
