This is ridiculous.
I've been getting calls from this number for MONTHS, at all hours of the day & night. I usually don't answer, and they don't leave voicemail. On the rare occasion that I actually pick up by mistake, I have to say "hello?" about 3 times before they say anything. They ask for me, but they pause, as if going down a list of names before pronouncing it wrong (it's pretty basic) I say "who's calling, please?" as I always do for unknown callers, and she says "it's a business matter, I can only tell (my name) who I am. Are you him? (I'm female, and don't sound remotely masculine). I tell them I'm on the do not call registry and that I've ALREADY INFORMED THEM OF THAT and that if they can't tell me who they are, I can't tell them who I am, and I hang up. I'm so sick of it.

Do what I do:  when you see an unusual number come up on the caller ID answer the phone and start off with "hello, this call is being recorded.  how may I help you?"  Totally legal and I have yet to have someone NOT then hang up on me.

3 calls from this number and I go to answer it and the message is recorded, warped and pretty darn scary. If it is a collection agency, then they need to fix their warbled recording. If I continue to get these calls, I am going to change my landline number. Obviously they change their numbers when they cannot get thru.

Hey Habib - some of us get calls for previous owners of phone numbers, you jerk! My father died over 5 years ago and I get calls for him on my home phone, none of which are for collection agencies. Not everyone has debt you know. I can honestly say I have none except for my mortgage, which is fine.

I just got a new AT&T cell phone yesterday and this morning the 1st call I got on it was from (617) 581-1061 and no one was on the other end then I heard it hangup, so I called it back and it was a deth collector tring to collect on deths that are unpaid, Told him I just got this cell phone and number yesterday so he said sorry and will correct his records and take it off there list.

Its not a scam its a Collections Agency called CCS from Newton Mass; they're probably just calling you if you have an overdue NSTAR bill or your girlfriend did at your old apartment and made the mistake of calling and paying their bill on their behalf once or twice. Utilities keep records folks

its a collection agency. CCI or something, the woman kept mumbling the name of the company but said everything else clearly.

Its amazing how many people have absolutely no debt, yet get collection calls. Liars!!!

I got this call just now - automated msg for Jessica Jones - collection agency. I have another message on a completely different ph for Jessica Jones.... is a scam call.

they call me and dont leave a massage and wont leave me alone if they keep it up i will call the states attorny in IL. and report them. the number they call from is 617-581-1061

First of all learn to spell or type correctly before you act like a know-it-all and maybe next time you will actually read what the others wrote before you comment and won't embarrass yourself and look like an a** because almost all of them if not all have said they don't owe any money or they are receiving calls for people OTHER THAN THEMSELVES so they haven't forfeited any monetary commitments in which they ventured ergo they could not possibly be considered your so called "dead meats" oh you meant "dead beats" ....... In lay mans terms since your probably scratching your head- wrong number wrong person n you are just wrong all around :) have a nice day,hope I didn't make your head smoke too much! Everyone else sorry and I hope these calls stop or have stopped,if not I pray they do soon for all of us ;)

This number calls ALL THE TIME!!!! I don't always answering but lately I have so. Could tell them to stop bothering me,they never say anything just eat my minutes. The worst part is I know damn well it's NOT FOR ME if it is a real collection agency,it's a new number for me.

CCS is a legitimate Collection Agency. It's often used by Medical Doctors and Hospitals. If you have no debt that they would be collecting then it is advisable for you to call them and get it straightened out. They will tell you who the debt is supposed to be owed to. It may just be a case of a wrong number in their files.

I think they got my name number off craiglist. The old I'll send you a check and you cash it western union the cash to them.Then you find out it was a fake check and your bank comes after you! Big Scam!

calls me once a week with no message. in case it was a collector,  i just checked my credit to see if I am overdue on anything and my report showed good standing on everything.

This number has called me 3 times already today, all within the last hour.  No message is left.
