My husband and I both recieved this call last night,and it was the same as what everyone else is saying. They told us we would have arestraining order against us. I got online to research the number, and found this. I would also like to know how to turn these people in. this was ridiculous.

I came home from a long day at work to my answering machine chiming. I listened to this message about a restraining order but there was no name of who this message was for exactly. With it sounding so urgent, I called the number back. After staying on hold for way to long I hung up and decided to look online for more answers. and I found this site. I hope there is nothing more to it than this. Its been a long day.

I was contacted by these people saying I was named in a class action law suit. I was told me and my attorney had 48 hour to reply. Oh ya they mention something about a restraining order. Thank you all for sharing your stories. Your stories have helped me to stand my ground with people that try to use scare tactics.

I totally agree with you Mary, I got the same crazy call. The nerve of those people, how do they sleep at night? It should be a law in place to protect people from these scamming, scandalous monsters.

Got a call for "Mary Ann Stanley", my deceased mother of 3 years.  Same threats of "you better be there with your lawyer..."  If it had been a "live" person, I would have offered to send them her urn that my brother bought for her beloved ashes.  These threats are harrassing and malicious and whoever is doing this should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Had a voice message on my home line telling me I was involved in a civil investigation and a restraining order.  They gave me a Claim No and a phone number, 617-583-5720, and told me to contact my attorney.  While I was on hold calling this number, another call came in and I was told by the woman that she was the only secretary with a law firm Global Legal Group and she gave me a different Claim No and phone number to contact.  She said she had no information that she could give out and to just call the phone number.  I told her, as I was reading all the comments about 617-583-5720 that it sounded like a scam and I didn't owe anybody anything.  She just said to call the 757-301-4745 number.  I don't know if they are the same people, but it does sound funny.  Also, for the only secretary with a law firm, it was noisy with so many other people taking in the background.

Wow, this is interesting. I got the call yesterday, 10 OCT 2012, as well from 1-617-583-5720. Said that I was going to have a lien against my bank account and that my bank accounts would be frozen; And that there would be a letter coming in the mail telling me when that I will be going to court; Told me that I will need an attorney; Supposedly for a check that I wrote to Schwan's. Said that I was fraudulent, that I had received the product and ran away with it; Dispersed of the merchandise;
  I don't write checks, don't have checks, and I don't owe schwan's. K, had to put it on here to spread the word. HW

got a call today they gave a case number said my attorney has 24 hours to respond and show cause or they would freeze my bank account and they would place a restraining order against me im so glad i researched and found out this is a scam thank you all

Received a phone call today, did not pick up let it go to voice mail they said that they had a legal matter to discuss but did not  tell who  they were calling for and than proceeded to tell me that if not response is given with in 48 hours that legal matter would be taken including going to court and going to jail for bank fraud.

this is a new trick creditors use to start the statue of limitaions over on old debt.
if you respond or confirm your identity IN ANY WAY when they call, they can start the statue over again and you can then be put into collections.

i have a 10 yr debt from my divorse that is not on my credit and fell off from responsibility almost 7 years ago. they started calling old relatives and friends last week, found my # and left me the same messages

Got the same call, same message and knew it had to be a scam. I had a simular call a couple of years ago and knew there was no one suing me but called the number back. A man with a thick accent said he needed my social security number to verify myself. I told him until he told me what this was about I wasn't giving him sh--!!! He placed me on hold and the same man came back on the line claiming to be an atty and needed my soc. to verify my info as I was being sued for fraud on a payday loan I supposedly defaulted on. I started laughing at him because I had never had a payday loan.....I never heard from them again. I blocked them from calling my cell. This is the same sort of call.

Just got the same call on my landline. I figured by the urgency and near yelling of the recorded voice that it was a sham designed to work up your nerves. I'm inclined to keep thinking so since my mother who is an attorney says restraining orders and court appearances are always delivered in person or by mail (so in writing), and not just over the phone with a recording. Then I hopped online and bingo, several of you have gotten this same call with the same restraining order. My only question now is whom to report it to?

My father has been getting these calls about my mother getting a restraing order, ect and they are not even married any more. they gave us two phone numbers and we stayed on hold for like 10 min each number and it  has not even gotten to a recording to leave a message nothing. My dad has answered the calls and all it is is a recording. how do we stop them from calling them and us.

Gotta call from 617-583-5720 they threatend me with a restraining order.. Hmm guess I won't go near Cambridge Ma to see them! Its about a debt/charge from a little over six years ago that I had refused to pay! Ummm nope still not going to pay and it will fall off my records in under a year.
These people should be stopped because of herrasment.

I got a recorded msg from this # for my husband about a case filed against him & that they would be filing a restraining order. They gave a call back # & case #.  They said all info would need to be forwarded to our attorney. Now mind you this is a Cambridge, Ma # & we live in Memphis, Tn so a restraining order would be ridiculous especially since we do not know nor have ever been to Cambridge, Ma. Come to find out it is just a rather unscrupulous debt collector. Don't worry about the restraining order. That's just a tactic to get a call back from you so they can further threaten you. If I had any plans to work out a pmt plan, I certainly don't now.

I'm being sued for bank fraud an they would do a settlement today of $395.00 to stop it from going to court an I had a restraining order brought against me!!!
