Has called several times in the past few months. Never leaves a message, doesn't say anything when I answered. If I call back I either get a disconnected number message or busy signal. Caller Id says it's someone by the name of Shawne Wise.

calls between seven &nine times daily will not answer have him blocked

Shawne Wise has called quite a bit, I do not answer numbers I dont know, no message no return call from me. Drives me nuts maybe if I dont answer they will get the message.

Just got a call from this number.  I answered it, and there was dead silence.  I said hello, 3x.  Then the phone clicked.  I guess they knew better. ;)

Received a call also from this Shawne Wise. Did not pick up and when I returned the call I received the same message that the number was not working.

I suspect a spoofed robocall #.  Double-digit complaints made to the do not call website in the past month or so.  Keep reporting this # if they keep calling.

Thank you for posting here.  Now I have no qualms about not answering it.  I was worried that I might miss a business related call from the 618 area code, but then realized that they would have left a message~

I am on do not call list and these guys keep calling me for donations to police dept. What part of do not call ...do these people not understand!

Have recieved 10 calls from this number in October. I let the answering machine answer ----no message ever left---they do not get tired of calling it's a machine dialer

Same thing, nothing on other end when I answered but when I tried to call back number is disconnected. Don't get scammed

When I called this number back the recording tells me that the number I reached is disconnected or no longer in service.  I don't know how this could be if the call came from that number.

Just got a call from this number... didn't answer.  But I have picked up in the past when they rang to squeeze me for cash. It's a scam. I'm sure.  I also told him... "I'm not working right now and it's been hard trying to get another job!" He could have cared less!!  He said... that's true about so many people, blah, blah, blah. It you could donate something... anything, no matter how small an amount."  He explained that they take credit cards and so on... and asked if he could send me the forms and the Police Association sticker for my car so that people would know that I support my local police.  When I park my car... that sticker is important he emphasized!!  Yeah. Right. I felt like asking will the sticker negate need for me to feed the expensive downtown Chicago parking meters!  I think it's fair to say that this number and one also used by same guy with a 217 area code... is a scam based on info I got from my calls to Illinois Attorney General's Office to report and ask about it and to the Chicago Police Dept's community affairs Office. Both places elaborated about these scam callers and that it's better to ignore the phone when it rings.

Missed the call with no message left. Checked this number and found many of you had same issues. I did try calling back earlier before I read this page and checked out the number, but line was busy, and I am glad now  after reading these comments!

Do you suppose, if none of us ever answer unsolicited calls, they would stop?
Obviously the do not call .gov does not work.

Got a call from this # too with no answering machine message.  Sounds like a scam to me.  Police departments don't solicit outside their jurisdiction and many don't solicit at all.  Looks like a Granite City, IL number.

Received a call from this number.  Male caller said he was with the local police force and asked for donation so children can be I.D. in my area.

I told him I am out of work and could not donate and he called me names before slamming the phone down.
