Called and asked for my ex husband. Very polite caller. We've been divorced since 2005, and they pronounced his full first name (he usually goes by a nickname) which is a pretty common debt collection agency or some other legal service mistake.  I explained that I don't have any forwarding information, they said they'd remove this number.

Its supposedly from a law firm in which an Account Executive calls you to talk trash about a debt. In my case, its where I left the army housing. According to the account executive, Army sent out housing debt to them.

If anyone has been in the Army, YOU CANT CLEAR/LEAVE the post before you pay all of your bills; your stuck there until you do.

If anything, ask for proof of your debts, call the original company you owed funds to; get documentation from them as well.

If the attorney from this firm gives you a hard time, get the bar association involved.

To the best of my knowledge, we have no debts in default and no reason for anyone to sue us for such. I've gotten calls for other people where the caller thought I was that other person, so maybe that's it. I'm tempted to call them back. (on their 800# so they have to pay for the call... I have free long distance)

Law firm. Speciality is debt collection. If you got a call from them, they are suing you.

I think it is a collection agency.
