These are really bad guys -- this is probably one of the worst debt collecting companies I have ever seen.  Give it time and they will be sued and that will stop all of their unethical practices.

I received a callof rom Mr. Bickman 2 days ago prior to 8:00am stating he needed to speak with me or my attorney before the end of the day. On advice from my attorney I requested all the information be sent to me. This request was left on Mr. bickman's voicemail. I also stated in my message that I cannot accept calls at my work and therefore left him my cell#. He did not call me back nor has he sent any information to me as requested. This morning he called my work again against my direction and the collection laws, at 6:39AM! It is my understanding that this contact is illegal.

Thank you all for posting because now I am not so stressed/concerned knowing my personal debts and their statuses.

This is HIGHLY unethical if they are a legit collection company. You should sue for slander doesn't matter if it's true or not slander is slander

I got a call from a Steve Davis from the same firm Barrett and associates. He called my place of employment discussing the whole situation with my co workers also called my manager at home discussing the matter. He stated that it was urgent that he spoke to me today otherwise he was issuing for the local county to serve me papers at work because they can't catch me at home. There is always someone at my house, nobody has ever showed up. Nobody has ever showed up at work either. The one girl I work with asked him how he was legally able to discuss her personal matters with someone other than her, he stated that once the papers are filed to be served then it's a public matter she asked again well if the papers haven't been filed it is still a personal matter and you are not legally able to discuss it with anyone but her. He snapped at her and told her that she was obstructing justice and she could be served as well and that her job at this point is to take down the number and get it to me now. He was very rude and completely unprofessional. He has threatened me for months now to be serves but when I ask him for proof of this debt he says he will mail it yet I never get it and when I ask him for it again he snaps that he already sent it once he will not send it again.

Steve Bicman just called my work - would not tell me where he is calling from.  He said they have me "set" for being served at my place of employment this Thursday.  I asked his hours & said I would call back when I get off work.  He told me he knew I got a break, etc.... during the day.  I told him I could call back after my job was done for the day.  He told me that if I don't call him back I will see him in court - he then hung up on me!  Who is this character????

I received a call from a Steven Davis for a debt I owe, they may be a real company, but i was talking to someone that had to go to court on Friday because if this same problem.  He won his case and did not have to pay a penny.  The problem is that these companies have written off this debt and the creditor you are getting the calls from buy list from the company you originally owed for a lot less then what your debt was, then they call you to retrieve the money that you owed the company and add on all these fees, because they know you are going to pay the lesser amount because you are scared.  You really don't owe them anything because you did not borrow anything from them and who asked them to buy your debt.  I intend to call the original company.  If any money is to be paid back it will be paid the who I owe it to.

I am glad that you really owed a debt, I DO NOT!!! It is a Federal Offense to attempt to collect a Debt that has been discharged in Bankruptcy! They need to leave me and my family alone! They also said that they we account a month ago, however I did this loan more that 5 years ago!

I received a call from this Collection Agency telling me that I was going to be served papers and have to appear in court on Fraud charges. The man said that the DA's office was looking for me because I gave their client a fraudulent check for a payday loan. He told me that his office had already given the paperwork to the Sheriff's office. Funny thing is I filed Bankruptcy over a year ago and this loan was included, I never gave a check to anyone as I did the entire loan online, and I haven't lived in California for more than 2 years. He called my mom as well and left a message on her answering machine that I was being investigated by his Law Firm. This is harassment!! I do not owe anyone and I have committed fraud!

Steve Bickman has called me twice about my college roommate from 25 YEARS AGO! Haven't called him back yet.

I got a call from this steve bickmann guy as well, the wired thing is that I talked to him and I owed over 2000.00 and he gave me a hard ship payment is what he called it and gave me a settlement of 450.00 I hate collectors but the deal he gave me was very good.

This person Steve Bickman called my ex-husband's sister-in-law in New York. How random is that. I don't even know her. My ex-husband had to call me from Colombia to report that call to me. He was very rude.

i have been in the collection field for over 15 years , Mr. Bickman  this is possible his collector name and if there is any good comments on this page it is probably him  or the company he works for. They  can add to this comment page just like i am with unknown information , the FDCPA is cracking down on  abusive and threating tatics buy calling a consumers relative is only for location information and they are not suppose to leave messages per a investigation we show you may be related or stating legal action or serving papers also if they leave a case# this usally is just an account number, they think that if they leave that information they might get a call back. He  is absoultley breaking the FDCPA and state laws , He leaves this information on relatives message machine he is stupid . and if he does leave a message or talk to someone he is never to call you back for location information unless permission is given or he believes he wrote the information down wrong you tell him never to call bk or attoney general will be involved,i cannot this believe collector is still using old collection practices , this is 2011 debt collectors should be more willing to help with the economy. Just got a call from Steve Bickman about my mother and some fraud case...hmm sounds quite odd.

Mr Steve Bickman called a relative of mine about a debt that was already paid. He told  my relative I was going to jail and she would come with me if she didnt give him my info. He then left me a message saying he was going to harrass my landord or mortgage company until I paid him a whopping 60.00 on the outstanding loan. When I asked him to send verification of debt he did but  I recieved it 2 months later on a sheet of paper that had no letterhead. Had none of his offices information. He refused to give me his address. And a whole lot of numbers that made no scence. Like for my social security number he had 20 numbers. He had a drivers license letters. Mine is numbers. THere were other issues with the letter but I wont continue this.

Im getting phone calls about a lone i already paid and this people keep harrassing me at work, and home and also they call my landlord very disrespecful they keep telling me about taking acton to take to court and penalties but anyways is funny because they call couple times and stop and then a weeks later they will call again repeat the same story Im not goin to pay nothing because i know i dont owe nothing. If is that bad that Steve Bickman could come visit me he even gave me a case # 21-00490-0 very fonny.

This guy is a definite fraud/ con artist. He is not legitimate. He contacted a relative of kinds and informed them I owed past due funds on a debt that was paid off several years ago. When I contacted him & tried to inform him that this was not a valid debt, he was very rude & obnoxious and told me I was a broke deadbeat who didn't like paying my debts and he would serve me with legal papers right away because "you will pay this one, trust me, I guarantee it". When I called back to get contact info to send written documentation, he refused to tell me anything. He insisted that I needed an attorney to contact him and also informed me I wouldn't be able to afford a public attorney and his office wouldn't deal with a "public defender". This guy is obviously a certified idiot and for those of u saying that he's legit, either you are this person or you didn't dispute the debt and simply gave him your money. That's all fine & dandy, but the majority of these cases being pursued are outdated or incorrect. This guy is a liar and very unprofessional. Everything he is doing is ILLEGAL. What legal company doing legal things would refuse to disclose contact info?? FRAUD
