From the first message, this individual has the right to collect on an account that your information was provided to take out.  He probably owns a small collection company that can, and will, file civil litigation if necessary to recover the funds.  If the information that he provided does not match, you can file fraud.  There is nothing that states that he has to post  his private personal information about his company on the internet.  Use your head here, if you own a collection company and you collect from people that typically do not want to pay their debt, do you want them to know how to locate you.  As an owner of a debt collection company myself, I do not want a disgruntled individual showing up to my office planning to "take action" on my employees.  You can call it a scam, you can threaten to call the FBI, but bottom line is if he has purchased a debt that is tied to your social, he has every right to collect on it.  Reference FDCPA Section 809. Validation of debts, "..unless the following information pertaining to the debt is contained in the initial communication..." this is saying that the information provided was social, banking information, account number etc. When he gave you the initial information he was validating the account, which seems to not match.  You have every right to dispute the validity, but you have to understand that if all the information matches, that means that someone opened the account with your social, deposited it in your bank account, accessed your bank account to extract the funds, then the loan company tried to withdrawal what was due back to them, all without you knowing and disputing it then.  That's about as likely as my brother calling me and telling me he is pregnant and due next week.  If you have time to blog this stuff over and over, I suggest getting a job and a life and stop trying to ruin others'.

Close the acct that you gave them the information from.  This is a huge scam.  I have had many many calls regarding the same thing.   Here's what I know:
Telephone Collection Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

12/01/2010?The IC3 receives a high volume of complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. In these scams, a caller claims that the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check cashing services.

One of the most insidious aspects of this scam is that the callers have accurate information about the victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. The method by which the fraudsters obtained the personal information is unclear, but victims often relay that they had completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls began.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide to the victims any details of the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers threaten victims with legal actions, arrests, and in some cases physical violence if they refuse to pay. In many cases, the callers even resort to harassment of the victim?s relatives, friends, and employers.

Some fraudsters instruct victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain dollar amount, on a specific date, via prepaid visa card. The statement further declares that the victim would never dispute the debt.

These telephone calls are an attempt to obtain payment by instilling fear in the victims. Do not follow the instructions of the caller.

If you receive telephone calls such as these, you should:

Contact your banking institutions;
Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file;
Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger;
File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.

I recieved a phone call from this number (619-258-3517) After trying to look the number up on the reverse lookup it said it was an unlisted number. They left a message stating I had pending legal matter and needed to call today. I called this number and a Mr Day answered. He asked if an account number was left so I gave it to him. The lady on the message was a Mrs. Evans, but a Mr Day took care of all my answers. He knew all of my information, my SSN, my Address. The only thing that was wierd was he gave me an amount for a payday loan through BMG Payday Services (which I can't find anywhere online) and he first told me it was for a BGM. The actual lending company was a third party company called Global Group (can't find them anywhere online either or through the BBB. He said there was 320 deposited into an account with Alabama State Employee accounts. I told him that I have never lived there and I have never had an account with this company. All he could say was hmmmmmmm. When I asked what I could do about this account after it is paid to get the ID fraud taken care of he passed me onto a Steve Davis. All Steve said was that I only ad the option to take care of the bill or it will go to the DA office as of the end of the business day. So I set up a payment for next friday. But now i am thinking that was a bad call after finding this site as the first place when I entered the number to call them back with (619)258-0817. That number also comes up as a John Mann who lives in Santee CA.  What should I do...I am scared to contact the local police...cause I am guilty of taking in Payday Loans but as far as I know they have been paid....
