I am a little concern of where they got my number from to send this txt....Mine originated from 985-710-1020. But doesn't really matter of where it came from....this number can easily be made up. Same message.

Great, I can see this being the big new wave in unwanted spam - but unlike email spam, this costs me money and my phone chimes every time I get a text.

Got a text from 619-788-4941 saying BestBuy appreciated my business and was giving me a $1000 gift card. I have never given BestBuy my cell number, so I knew it was a scam. Sounds like these people get around, judging from the number of posts about this number.

I got a text for Best Buy and I keep my cell number to myself, so how in the hell did they get my number. It was a $1000 dollar gift card. Be vigilant everyone and don't be fooled.

I received a message saying that I won $1000.00 gift card for Best Buy. I did not shop there this year at all. I thought I would just check this site out. I am glad I read all the other text message from everyone else. Thanks everybody I am not falling for this scam either.

The spam message is misleading. You will have to complete a survey, enroll in a "reward program" and stay enrolled for X amount of time/months.
And yes it is a fee based "reward program" and like most is nearly impossible to un-enroll in save canceling your bank/card account. And then they will hound you until the end of time.
Also the "MyFreeOfferSite" website has all sorts of BestBuy and WalMart logos and graphics, but they are, quote:
"mygiftcarddeal.com is an independent rewards program and not associated with any of the above listed merchants or brands."
So scam scam scam
