Have really grown tired of these people.  Another man with an accent wanting IT people who don't exist, then asking for anyone in the department, so he can impart information.  Transferred him to Purchasing's IT division, but he returned, very upset that "You sent me to the wrong place!"  Advised that company considered what he was doing to be soliciting and was about to switch him again when he hung up.

Just called saying he was from CVS pharmacy trying to get the owners name. Heavy Indian accent.

Called me this morning saying the caller was from US Bank. They asked for a real person at the company (the CEO) - had clearly read our web site and knew some details from the site.

This is very clearly a scam, being operated out of a call centre in India, but spoofing a US-based telephone number (which is not difficult these days). Do not participate in the scam, but DO notify your local authorities (US Secret Service, FBI, or RCMP if you are in Canada).

Indian accent and asked for someone that was not here and he then said "F*** you" and hung up on me. This is a business and he was rude. Scammer!!!!

Same thing.  Called my direct line at work.  Asked for me by name, I confirmed, he hung up.  Heavy Indian accent

Same experience as DeeAnn above. Also got a virtually identical call looking for non-existent person from  619-906-7706.

One of our trunk lines has been getting calls from various Canadian phone numbers, today from this California number, originating out of some boiler room that sounds like it's in India.  The connection is bad, which makes me think it may be from overseas.  It's always a male asking for a different name of an employee we've never heard of, and asking for that person repeatedly even when I say there's no one here by that name.  The call always ends the same way, with the person asking to verify the name of our business.  I have been getting 2-3 of these a day now.  When I ask who they are, they give me a different large US company name.   I can't imagine how this scam works or what it's about, but it's obviously not the least bit legitimate.

Just got a call from this number, transferred to me by reception.  I said hello and they abruptly hung up.  Looks/sounds like a scam.

Call from that number, did not answer, no message was left.

Same here! called asked for me by name. When I said it was me, he said "this is your direct line"? I said yes and he hung up. Weird!

Same problem - he called me on my business line, asked for me by name, then when I confirmed, he hung up.

Asked for an employee that is currently working in another office, asked for the number over there, then asked if they could ask me a question, I said ok, then he asked how old I was...!! I said that is none of your business and hung up.
You could tell it was call center, by the background noise.

Yes, hung up on me when I said Yes too.  Has called a few times with same action.  I will start saying No to see what happens.

Asked for me by correct name, then hung up immediately after I said "yes?".

Have gotten numerous calls from this same "business" asking for a fictitious person.  Then wants to know what department he is calling.  Started hanging up on him.

Heavy Indian accent asking for my VP. Said he was from Capital One and he was calling regarding a "business matter".

Scammer - we don't do business with Capital One professionally, nor does my VP privately.  

Move on, crappy scammer. You will not be getting through.
