I got a call today for my son. The woman claimed she was from "Hudson". Whatever that is...she was vague...I told her if she was vague with me, then I would be vague with her about my son's whereabouts...she got loud and rude...I told her she was rude and not to call my number again.

I don't care what kind of call it is.
I'm not answering and I'm not calling them back.
Because its a Scam.

Got a call and phoned them back. The person answered the phone and said that they have several different comapnies and aren't sure which company phoned me. Wanted my number so she could look me up. Sounds like SCAM artist to me.

Leaves a message that says it's not a telemarketing call and to call them back.

Get this call on a daily basis as well. The debt they mention to me was true debt at one time that I have taken care of in the past year, and I have told this to the person on the other side who will never give me their name and they just go on about setting up payment plans with me and needing an address. I will be using Bud's forms and hope this ceases all future calls.
Thanks for the information,
CD

They have been calling my cell phone and even went to the extent to call me at work claiming I have paperwork to be filled out. I think this sounds like a scam but I am not sure. After reading all these blogs I realize that i should not give out any info. The lady says her name is Karen Dill and gives all kinds of numbers for me to refer to. Has this happened to anyone else

these people call my cell number twice a day looking for an "elmer donaldson." i've had my cell number for 10 years, and it wasn't a used number previous to me. everytime they call, it is a prerecorded message asking for this "elmer donaldson" guy, it gives me the option to press 3 if he cannot be reached at the number. I press 3 every time I answer and they continue to call. This evening my husband answered and pressed 1 (indicating that he was elmer). The guy argued with him about the number and me having it for 10 years. He then when on to suggest that i was "shacking up with elmer donaldson" and thats why they have my number for the guy. its very annoying and we now have a humorous story to go with it. don't answer the calls because even when you indicate they shouldn't be calling you, they will continue.

Oops...my mistake. The call you received was from National Credit Adjusters (NCA) and not from NCO. Though, it makes little difference...except that Bud Hibbs says that NCA is "a scam operation." Here's the poop on NCA: http://budhibbs.com/debtcollectorpages/national_credit_adjusters.htm
| EC 2007-11-23 14:54:14 Unknown |
It's soooo important that they call with a prerecorded message. lol
You and everyone who has posted to this thread should know that NCO is rated by Bud Hibbs as one of the worst collection agencies in America. (They recently paid over a million dollars to the Federal Trade Commission for violations of federal credit reporting laws.) Anyway, check out Bud's profile on NCO: http://budhibbs.com/debtcollectorpages/nco_financial_systems.htm
Whatever you do, don't call back...and if they call back and you answer, give them no information about yourself (don't even confirm your name.) And if they become a problem, you can always send them a cease communication letter, and/or contact an attorney. You can get referrals for a consumer law attorney from Bud Hibbs ( www.budhibbs.com ) or from the National Association of Consumer Advocates ( www.naca.net )
Good luck!
