I wish someone would show up to my door.
I'd invite them in and stage the area like a robbery attempt after I blew off their heads and p1$$ed down their neck.
Pieces of sh**s, and I don't care who it is.

Rather than doing the "hello, hello", use a whistle. I have gotten all kinds of calls from this Portfolio company for someone I don't know. The first time I answered they were very rude. After that, every time I get a long distance call from a number I don't recognize I answer with my whistle blowing loudly. Hope I blow out their eardrums. You can tell them hundreds of times to remove your number from their list and they just change numbers. I have many whistles and I keep one in my purse, my car and my desk at work. That way, I can respond whenever a call comes through. I never want to miss an opportunity to "blow the whistle" on them.

I just read that article and this was one of their paragraphs .................... A collector isn?t allowed to call a cellphone unless the consumer provided that number to the original creditor when signing up for the credit card or loan. Even in that case, collection companies cannot use their preferred, and cheaper, automated dialing systems when calling a cell number.

With regards to your remarks about the time clock starting over on a debt.
In some states, if there is any action on an old debt, THE CLOCK DOES START AGAIN.
This is why they constantly plead with you to make a small payment, so they can legitimately reage the debt.
My advice, HANG UP !!! Your words can hang you.

This is definitely Portfolio Recovery Associates. They keep getting different phone numbers.
unwantedcalls 2014-06-18 21:39:17 Unknown
On the new OS of the iPhones if you click the little i to the right of the number it takes you to a new screen and if you scroll to the bottom you can block the call. I am so sick of these people failing to comply with the statute of limitations and selling the debt thinking the clock starts over, WRONG. Also, this is a great thing to do to telemarketers and collection agencies, just did it myself today. Click on this youtube link called INTERRUPTING TELEMARKETERS (PHONE PRANK)

Thanks, I am blocking all of them just in case.
Sandra Lima 2014-06-11 19:24:05 Prank Call
To me - This is just another scam. I never heard about this Portfolio Recovery company. I am blocking this number in my Iphone. I never pick up calls if they are not listed in my contacts. If someone needs to talk to me they can always leave a message - otherwise I am assuming it is scam.
My friend had her Iphone hacked last week. When it happens anybody who pick up her "phone call" would unlock the data to the hackers. She had to get another number and tell everybody to not pick up her "call" ( big mess). Unfortunately, wee need to switch out to new numbers time-to-time to avoid this. Sadly, our Cell or phone numbers in general are not safe anymore.

This is the 16th number I have blocked from my phone for these people. I swear what a bunch of idiots I don't owe you anything every time I ask for verification of the debt to be mailed to me I get a bill saying you owe how every much money they want to ask for and that's it no original debt name or account number nothing what scum

Someone from this number called me, did not say his name (or I didn't catch it). He requested my bank account information like I am going to give that out to just anyone. When I asked for a number to call him back, he declined. Sounded like a scammer since he would not leave a number. Claims he is a debt collector.

Portfolio Recovery indeed. Just called me, asked if I was xxxxx xxxxxx, Which is my correct name, then described a debit I have not incurred, with a company I don't do business with. Then gave a birthdate, which was also incorrect. Then attled off an address in a city that I have never lived. When I asked the "lady" to repeat the birthdate and address she refused, and got very terse with me. Being concerned that my identity had been stolen, she continued to refuse to repeat the address again. Then she asked me to give her the last 4 digits of my social, which I refused. Maybe they are now in some "other" kind of business. Makes you wonder.
StoneMan Warrior 2014-06-09 20:37:04 Unknown
Portfolio Recovery is company... a business. Business owners use a service called Better Business Bureau (B.B.B.) for special purposes. The BBB is then the place consumers call to complain about a company such as Portfolio Recovery. BBB then sends that complaint information to that company, for a fee. BBB is a service used by business to trick the consumer. We consumers complain to BBB, BBB then sends that info to that company as a courtesy and of part of the services they provide for Business... for a fee. Such a service is used as a "heads-up" sort of thing so the company then knows who is complaining and what the consumer is complaining about. That's about the time that Guido, Tommy Two-Toes, and Three Fingers Louis show up at your door disguised as Jehovah's Witnesses.

Babs 2014-06-04 18:31:28 Debt Collector
These folks call me regularly with multiple numbers. They are calling about an account that was settled several years ago (misunderstanding with original creditor). They buy lists of accounts and try to collect them all, even though some are no longer valid. They have no claim against me at all. The statute of limitations ran at least 4 years ago.
