No message left, just the call that I didn't answer because I didn't know the number.

Keep calling. Do not abide by DO NOT CALL list.
eric 2011-06-06 20:53:09 Unknown
left a space between car and d, on my message today.
spam comes to textland 2011-01-25 01:48:27 SMS
Notice that they say the account number 51165xxxxx - but messages I've gotten from my bank (LEGITIMATE messages) mask the beginning and specify the last digits - like "your account ending in 5678" or "account #xxxxx5678".
Might be a good way to identify this kind of msg as bogus.
Pamela Goodroe 2011-01-24 03:39:46 Unknown
Message was there was a problem with my Master Card. I do not have a Master Card. When I called the number they said I needed to activate card.
KS 2011-01-24 00:18:34 Unknown

V 2011-01-23 21:47:07 Unknown
man, we all have the same mc #?!?! :)
Something from verizon?? Someone hacked verizon and got all our phone numbers??
Ignore. This is phishing, spam, or worse...

Same message from 904874@myvzw.com
It Read Notice: H&R 511165xxxxx Car d Issue. Ring: 1-623-321-2892.
Unfortunately I called because I thought there was a problem with my Verizon account.
THIS IS A SCAM.....
The message asked me to activate my Emerald MasterCard from H+R block... I hung up and called H+R and they took a fraud case report. EVERYONE that gets this message should call H+R and complain... You should also call your cell phone provider and report that they have hacked into the email service. The more we complain the stronger we get, the more likely they will do something about it.. otherwise they will just give you a generic excuse and shrug the whole thing off.

Unwanted text message from "818970@myvzw.com":
"Notice: H & R 511165 XXXXX Card Issue. Ring 13174956346"
I don't know who H & R is. I did not give my cell number to any of my credit card issuers, and they would send an email if they needed to contact me. Info on the net shows this is a scam, in this case a phishing attempt to get you to give the scammer your credit card info. Do not bother to call them back or respond.
MD 2011-01-22 16:34:27 Unknown
I received this text message from H & R block that looks like a phishing scam or a solicitation to get a credit card. Called my bank's fraud unit to report it since it will likely impact lots of people.

5360721@myvzw.com: Notice: H & R 511165XXXXX Card Issue Ring: 1-..... I received this message on my phone... I happened to visit with my mother who has a very basic flip phone through verizon and received the same exact message.... I called technical support and do not show any thing in their records regarding this... the tech suggested I google it.....here I am sharing the same info... nice to know this is not an isolated incident..
anabanana 2011-01-22 04:05:43 Unknown

RL 2011-01-21 23:58:17 Unknown

MC*** 2011-01-21 23:56:02 Unknown
I just got this text today and I thought I would google it to find out if it was a scam, and turns out it is. Glad I didn't call the number.
hatespam 2011-01-21 23:51:40 Unknown
Got the same msg. Whoever sent this seems to know we are all verizon customers, how did they get our numbers?? Was it a breach in security at Verizon?
warp 2011-01-21 23:38:30 Unknown
Changed my mind and called Verizon to see if there is anything they would do to assist their customers in general and they said they can't do anything about it other than block the 1-623-321-2892 number for me. That wouldn't do any good since the message seems to have orginated from 818314@myvzw.com email address which was probably spoofed in the first place.
SNM 2011-01-21 23:27:41 Unknown
Yes, I received the same message from818314@myvzw.com just like others. "Notice: H & R 511165XXXXX Card Issue. Ring 1-623-321-2892. Yep, I am NOT calling this one. I usually type in an unrecognized phone number to see what it is.
warp 2011-01-21 23:26:31 Unknown
Just got the same text message scam. I'm on Verizon too but won't bother to call them since they're not going to care. Never call a number someone gives you about a credit card even if they sound legitimate. If you really think a message might be real, just call the phone number on the back of your card and ask.
AD 2011-01-21 23:23:31 Unknown
530515@myvzw.com sent the h&r 5... "car d issues. ring..."
called verizon to report it. it's a known issue at this point and they're trying to kill it.
PJ 2011-01-21 23:16:34 Unknown
I also got the text message (which cost me 20 cents) and called Verizon to report the scam. I suggested that they should have a customer service place on their website where Verizon can let customers know about such crooks. The best they could do is block that number on my phone for 90 days! I suggested that they could block ALL calls from that number to ALL Verizon customers permanently, but apparently not.
K** 2011-01-21 23:15:14 Unknown
i just did that and reported it to the phone company as a scam, looks like google word knows more than the real phone company. the note with the text was
Notice: H & R 511165XXXXX Car d Issue. Ring: 1-623-321-2892
when I called it htey did not ID the voice mail sounding voice and told me that my master card was limited. ( i no longer have one of those) and to put in my 16 digit number. I pushed "zero" to see if it wil change to a service person but no such luck. I am posting here becasue I need to vent and to make sure others know about it.
naomi benghiat 2011-01-21 22:52:02 Unknown
received a text message about a H&R card. have no idea what that is as i don't kave a H&R card
Flowers 2011-01-21 22:51:51 Unknown
Yea I got the same text message as everyone It looks like a scam I just deleted from my phone. My provider is Verizon.
JH 2011-01-21 22:49:59 Unknown
Mine says, "818314@myvzw.com NOtice: H&R 511165XXXXX Car d Issue. Ring 1-623-321-2892"
I don't understand the text at all. If my credit card had an issue with anything, I am sure they would call me or send a letter, not a text that doesn't make much sense. Glad I went to the internet to see if others are having this happen. A long time ago, I got one of the Nigerian scam texts. You just never know.
CDawg 2011-01-21 22:45:20 Unknown
This seems to be a new scam because everyone here is writing about it only since last week! What a bunch of jerks!!!
Ed 2011-01-21 22:43:52 SMS
yea, got 2 texts (back 2 back) from a myvzw.com (Verizon's my carrier as well).. It too has a space in "Car d Issue" with Ring: 1-623-321-2892.
