The click is usually from an automated dialing system calling the number.  It'll not "leave a message" but does keep trying until the voicemail kicks in.

Just a tip for anyone with a jailbroken iPhone. Download the iBlacklist app from Cydia and you can set it u to screen calls. I have a Discover, paid it off but have been in dispute over an unauthorized charge. This number an their other collections number used to call all the time but I enetered both into the blacklist app and now my phone doesnt ring and the callers just get a busy signal. Hope this helps some of you other folks who are furstrated with Discover... they are the worst CC company out there.

the number is discover but the caller is spoofing your caller id....it is a social engineering trick to get your social and other info....do not give out any info over the phone or otherwise unless you have specifically called discover yourself...

My phone rings every morning at approx. 8:30 am and serveral times a day. If this is a Discover Card collector, I have no idea why they are calling me.  I payed off my credit card years ago and also closed the account.  This is bizzard.  They leave no messages and I don't answer the phone.

Yes this is discover card, how irnoic when i payed off my credit card they were willing to do whatever to get me back, then i used it again and well life happens,  its amazing how they cant help us out now, I just tell them they have the wrong number.  what i did is get an answering machine with a do not disturb on it, it lights up when they call but no annoying ringing, and then just delete the number. that way you stil get the phone calls you want without the constant ringing. and the answering machine has caller id

Someone from this number keeps calling me and hanging up repeatedly.  I do not and will not ever have a Discover Card.  Please advise them to mail me official notices if they are looking for Corina Aspaas so I can report credit fraud.

Daily calls - multiple times.  I have cancer and am undergoing treatment.  It is an issue of paying for treatment or paying Discover.  They don't care.  Now they have a new trick - when I don't answer, they play a horrible static noise for the 90 seconds my recorder will accept "messages."  This is plain and simple harrassment.  I have the option of listening to 90 seconds of ear-splitting static or getting up, answering the phone and then hanging up.  I have reported to them why I am not able to pay but they persist.  this is definitely deliberate harassment.  No other creditors are so hateful.

Just googled this number and got this thread. Heres what ya do. File a complaint with the FCC and with the Attorney General in your state. Pay your bill.lol. That will get some sort of action going. Especially if enough of us do so. I have started to just receive calls also from this same number. I will be filing a complaint with the FCC.

They called my old work number, which I had never given them. I didn't answer. When I retrieved the message, it was just a click. I'm current with Discover. It sounds like a scam or something.

This is Discover Cards collection department. They call seven days a week, including holidays, from 8:00 AM until 9:00 PM. If you don't answer, they call from other numbers, with different caller ID, and when the recording starts, they start to say the card holders name, like "Steve, Steve, pick up, it's me". They try all kinds of tricks toget you to answer the telephone. They also use a computer dialer, and sometimes when you answer, the recording on the bot says,  "You have an important call, please wait, you have an important call, please wait, you have an important call". This continues until a live person picks up the telephone on their end, and it is a collector. Even after the account has been placed with the hardship department, or you explain that you can't pay right now, the calls continue on a daily basis without fail. If you have a cellular telephone, and you pay for incoming calls, or voice, it may be worth your while to have the numbers that they call fromm, like the one above, or their 800 numbers blocked, as they will tie up your line when it goes into voice mail for long periods of time, and cost you a small fortune!
