Thank you for the info.  I received a letter today stating I had won "2 roundtrip airfare" anywhere within continental U.S.  All I had to do was call the 623-748-4241 number....and I also would receive a "$100 gas rebate voucher".  This particular letter was signed by "Patricia Carpenter. Travel Awards Division".

The letter was postmarked GA and there was no place of business address, website or anything to identfy where it came from.

I figured it was a scam and was glad to find the information here.

My letter came with my address 'hand written' on the envelope and no return address.  The offer was the same; Round trip airfare for two up to $1299 plus $100 dining gift card.  The letter was signed Beth Jensen from the Travel Awards Division.  The company name is not really on the letter; there is a logo that looks like a small u and a small n (like un).  I simply typed Beth Jensen Travel Awards Division and found all of you.  Thanks goodness...the husband was sounding like he was going to bite on this one.  BTW, it has reached Philadelphia now (still coming from August, GA).

They sent me a letter celebrating my birthday, which is was recently. telling me i had won 2 roundtrip airfare vouchers and a 100$ dining gift card that can be used at over 12,000 restaurants nationwide. This was also a hand written envelope, the letter was typed up...

What creeps me out is them saying "In celebration of your birthday you have been selected to receive...." Now thats way creepy

I also received a letter from Patricia Carpenter, Travel Division.  Letterhead was Strategic Marketing Solutions.  Dated August 7, 2009, with grammar errors.  Said I won 2 roundtrip airfare up to $1200.  It said to call 205-705-3922 to decline.

The letter came in a handwritten envelope, but I knew it was a scam as soon as I opened it.  No address on the letterhead.

After reading this string of complaints, I wonder....how many phone numbers does this lady have?!?!?!

Received the letter today (Letter dated August 10, 2009) from Strategic Marketing Solutions.  Letter starts out "I am pleased to inform you, that you can receive (2) Round-trip Airfare."

The grammar in of itself should alert someone that it's a possible scam.  There should be no comma after the word "you" and one would receive 2 round-trip "airline tickets" or would receive "airfare for two".  A person would not receive "(2)round-trip airfare".

This letter came in a "handwritten" envelope with a slightly crooked postage stamp and asked me to call (623 208-6882 to claim my airfare.  This letter is also signed by:

I received the same letter dated August 7, 2009 from Strategic Marking Solutions (no return address) and signed by Patricia Carpenter, stating I have been selected to receive 2 roundtrip airfre, valued at up to $1,200.  They try to get your number by enticing you to call to claim the tickets and also by asking you to call if you decline the airfare!  No doubt this is a scam.  The number to call on the letter is (623) 208-6882.

I received the same letter from Patricia Carpenter in my mailbox also, Travel Division dated July 27th. It did not have a post mark or even a stamp. It was delivered Postage Due. The phone number on the letter is 623-208-6885. I tried to look up Stategic Marking Solutions in the cities the letterhead showed, Las Vegas, Glendale, Birmingham, Houston, Ft Worth, and Atlanta. None of these cities had a listing. I was told I won 2 roundtrip airfares up to a value of $1200.

I received this letter today, addressed to my former AZ residence. Like others, it had the strategic marketing solutions header. I used *67 and called the number. I gave them a fake 'confirmation number' and fake name. When they asked for my number, I gave them theirs (623-748-4246). They gave me a physical address in glendale AZ and a Friday appointment. I am to go to this address, listen to some traveling tips, and receive my airfare tickets. I am only responsible for taxes on the tickets. I am to bring two forms of ID for myself and my wife. My guess is that they get all of your information along with your credit card number used to pay the taxes. I didn't write down the address in glendale. It was on sunrise, with a suite number.

Got a letter yesterday from "Strategic Marketing Solutions" with no return address and a postmark from Augusta, Ga.  The letter offered two roundtrip airfare, but I needed to call Patricia Carpenter, Travel Division at the phone number of 623-748-4246.  I am sure it is a scam.  No address listed in the letter.  Beware!

This letter has started appearing in Alabama now (end of May '09). Again, postmarked in Georgia, letterhead from "Strategic Marketing Solutions" with no address on letterhead or envelope. The reply telephone number (205-409-2841) is in Tuscaloosa. I'll give them credit for creativity, though... they used a first-class stamp and put it on slightly crooked, for that "hand-stamped" look.

Didn't get a call.  Got a spooking looking letter though.  Handwritten simulated computer font on the front.  No return address.  I'm supposed to call 205-705-3922.  I'd like to know the name of the company that gave these thieves my address.

I received the letter from UN Strategic Marketing Solutions offering me free $1200.00 Airline tickets. I called the number 205-705-3922 in Birmingham, Alabama. I called and the person said I would need to attend a 60 minute meeting and that it was not any kind of Timeshare. Beware when those words are said because with my experience that is what it is so I am not going to the meeting. This is the second letter within six months but under another name. They are scheduling meetings here and maybe someone can do something to stop them.

got a letter with reference to the 623 208 6882 number and I did my research.

It is not a scam, a sham or any sort of shyster organization at all, but rather a time share, like Shell Vacations, RCI, etc.

Quite a legitimate business if you're into travel.

What company isn't in business for them to make money, I hope that doesn't suprise anyone.  This company has been in business since the year 2000.  Same name, Same deal(price has gotten a little more expensive) gifts have changed over the years.  Used to be a hotel stay.  Of course they are trying to sell something.  Nobody can take your money unless you give it to them.

Received a letter signed "Patricia Carpenter" today, 08/01/2009.

Have previously received a letter from these crooks mailed from Georgia, and this one had an "Augusta, GA" postmark, too.

However, this time, no return address -- just the telephone number: 623-208-6882.

I received the same letter, but to my maiden name and I've been married for 2 years.  Wherever they are digging up the contact information is an OLD database.  My zip code recently changed though and the letter had the correct zip code.  Very strange.

This is a great website.  I am really happy I was able to find out that other people were receiving this letter.  I was fearful it was some identity theft issue.

I live in Phoenix and got a letter dated July 24 - but with a different contact number - 623.208.6885. I found this message board by googling "Patricia Carpenter."  Clearly I'm not the only one being targeted by these scammers.

How do these people live with themselves??!!

Here is a link that I found on the Arizona Corporation Commission's website.  It's all the info. we need to contact the 3 or 4 scum who own this company. Looks like 3 addresses...one here in Arizona, one in Georgia and one in New Jersey.

First, please note that the characters printed on the envelope are computer generated, they are not hand written.
As to 'Real Talk' and 'Eric', why would they post positive statements to an internet site that is directed to public notification of 'Unknown soliciation/solicitors.'
The letters originate from Augusta, GA 30909 zip code, where you will find a person listed in the telephone directory by that name.

PLEASE CALL YOUR LOCATE AND STATE REPRESENTATIVES concerning this type of solicitations and DEMAND that both local and federal law enforcements investigate to see if unlawful activity has occurred.  I will not endorse that the individual has committed any unlawful activity; I will leave that to law enforcement.

Please be an active citizen.  If you already are then ... WOW!!! that is so great.

Best of luck to each of the participants on this site and KUDOs to this website.
