got call from this number last friday night -- sounded like a tennage girl misdialing. or a prank call.

I saw a brand that I use and I requested a particular product in that brand family. They left a very pleasant and courteous message regarding my comment and said that they have informed the buyers in the area of my request. Very nice folks, but I was on the other line when they called. This call was generated as a result of my initial contact via a customer comment card.

This was a response from Safeway / Tom Thumb customer service center.
I had asked for a product they did not carry, and this call was politely informing me what they were doing about it.

Answer this call! I wasn't going to answer decided to. It ended up being corporate offices of Randalls (I guess they are also Safeway) saying that employee found my wallet and they were holding it at the store office. Thank you Randall's!

Thanks for clarifying this for me; I too recently complained about a product not being on the shelves at Safeway. Nice to know it's not a creepy scammer. Thanks again!

I recently sent a customer survey to Safeway, so this was probably someone trying to verify it. Maybe when they heard the correct name on my outgoing message, that was enough for them, because they didn't leave a message. I sure appreciate 800Notes! Thanks for the good service.

Worthless number.  only a recording was received which stated that if you want your phone number removed from our list, please leave your information.

We got several calls on both of our cell phones, with no sound on the caller end, sometimes calls were 5 mins apart, on 5 different days and times.  Got 3 calls Sat 12-20-08, 2 PM, 1 minute apart. This 3rd call I got a person, "Sheila," telling me that Safeway grocery in Phoenix, AZ would be getting food in the store that I special ordered.  
I think the caller works for a customer service company contracted by Safeway Grocery (and probably many others) to telephone their customers.
Maybe that's why Sheila was such a bi***! when I tried to relate the experience of previous days getting calls from this number.  She said the number should only show as Safeway Customer Service.  She didn't like it when I told her it showed the phone number, even argued with me .. LOL.

Safeway and they are very friendly, I called to complain about not having Enough Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper, They called and gave me some good information.

got a call from this number regarding a Safeway gift card. I had one that didn't work they were just calling to confirm and mail me a replacement card. Like 4 months later... but none the less.

This is a customer service center, servicing several large chains. They called me to verify a customer request form I filled out in Safeway for a product not on the shelves. They also left a toll-free number to call them back.
