they keep calling my work phone and won't take me off their list either.  I work with clients and their credit so I'm more familiar than most.  I'm going to keep track of the numbers, (they aren't always the same) and report it to the better business bureau.  Any other ideas?  It's annoying.

I purchased a cell for emergencies for my teen. They are even trying to solicit teenagers and are relentless! My 16 year old is not in debt.

No, they can NOT refuse to put your number on their "do not call" list. That's a violation of Federal law. So is telemarketing to a number on the National DNC list, of course.

There's a new marketing ploy going around, it's probably affiliate based from the debt relief companies trying to drum up clients and traffic. I believe that my number was recently compromised through applying to a bogus job post on craigslist. Now I get calls from all these random numbers, this one included today, on how to settle my debt legally. I did manage to get a hold of a rep from a company, who put my number on their no-call list, but it could take @30 days. What I was told that is if you press 1 to participate in the offer, your number gets rolled right back into their call list and you have to go through it all over again. But it's not the same company. And get this! The name isn't even right, today, the name that showed up on their end for the number I have that they were given was Bob Frank. So there's a whole new phishing scam running around to bump up affiliates pay outs by offering up bogus names connected to live numbers (if you press 1, you tell the computer it's active, so you get pushed through to a rep) so they can get paid to get more traffic and customers driven to the debt relief companies. So, do yourself, and everyone else except the prick marketers who are doing this a favor and DO NOT press 1. MmmKay? =) Hope this helped and spread the word! =)

Oh, one more word, If they're tied to some service like debt relief, diabetes, or any non-profit or the like, guess what? they don't have to abide by the do-not-call list. Nice little screw you job they did there, huh? Hide behind legit needed programs to slide a buck =) A***oles... lol

Shows up as DEBT RELIF WCA, this number has called our home every day for the past several weeks, sometimes leaving an automated message, but usually no message.  We were actually home this morning when they called, so my husband picked up the phone and asked to be placed on their NO CALL list, and the guy refused.  He said, nope, can't do that and they proceeded into his pitch.  My husband said we did not need their services and was interrupted numerous times with a very demanding "how much debt do you have?"  Finally my husband just hung up because the man robot on the other end refused to deviate from his script.

So, my question is, can they refuse to put your call on their own internal NO CALL list?

Oh and yes our number is on the National Do Not Call Registry.
