I asked how they got my number and said they were just calling randomly in the area to advertise their movie.  Not trying to sell me anything.  Just wanted me to go see the movie.  Velveteen Rabbit was a favorite book of mine.  Hopefully the move will become a favorite too.

They called my work cell phone. I looked at the number and did not answer. Did not recognize the area code. They did not leave a message.

My phone has also been abused by these 'people'. However, it is my cellular

I think you were talking to a ROBOT.  When you asked a question is wasn't programmed to answer, it hung up on you!

I spoke with this "guy" which is actually a pre-recorded voice controlled by an opporator.  I actually heard the guy controlling the voice.  It kinda creeped me out at first, but then I thought it was kinda cool.  No scam, just a new way to telemarket without a drab voice.

Company selling films will pay $70,000 over No Call complaints in agreement obtained by Nixon

St. Louis, Mo. ? Two companies that market and sell films will pay $70,000 to the state of Missouri and develop a detailed plan to ensure future compliance with the state's No Call law according to a settlement secured today by Attorney General Jay Nixon.

The assurance of voluntary compliance, filed today in St.Louis City Circuit Court, was the result of a lawsuit Nixon filed in March against Feature Films For Families Inc. of Murray, Utah, and the Dove Foundation of Grand Rapids, Mich., alleging the companies conspired in a scheme to evade state No Call laws. Telemarketers from the Dove Foundation claimed its status as a charitable organization provided them with an exemption to the Missouri No Call law. In reality, the Dove Foundation was using that status to solicit sales for Feature Films For Families, a for-profit organization that sells DVDs and videos. The Attorney General's No Call unit recovered almost 300 complaints about the calls.

?Companies such as these that look for new ways to circumvent our No Call law are another illustration of how effective our Missouri law is,? Nixon said. ?We always have been, and will continue to be, vigilant in protecting Missouri's consumers from unwanted telemarketers and will swiftly take action when there is a violation of the law.?

According to the agreement, the Dove Foundation and Feature Films For Families must pay $70,000 to the state Merchandising Practices Revolving Fund and obey all merchandising practices and No Call laws in the future. The respondents must also provide the Attorney General's Office with a detailed plan of practices and procedures they will implement in their businesses to ensure compliance with the state No Call law. They have also agreed to subscribe to, and remain current with, the Missouri No Call database.

Any future violation of the agreement by the respondents could result in contempt of court proceedings and civil penalties of up to $2,000 per violation.

If they were movie producers, how can they be a non profit. If they are the producers, they would be for profit couldn't call phones on the DO NOT CALL List. Which is it Bridges and Levy?

Why would someone make the first post. They get this call and happy about it and then look up the number and are the first to post, and it is positive.

I got a call from this number, didn't answer it, no one left a message.

I couldn't get this website open fast enough while my cell phone was ringing, but I got the number from the missed call because I didn't answer it.  They didn't leave a message.

8:45 PM - Very strange.  I have registered on the do not call list and I have never received a telemarketing call on my cell phone before.  A polite man told me about a movie coming out next month, "The Velveteen Rabbit", and asked if he could text me the website link.  He said that he would also take my email address if I was not comfortable receiving a text.

Thinking it was a scam, I started questioning him.  I asked how he got my cell number and he said they were simply calling random numbers.  Still confused that he called my private cell number, I asked him if he knew who he was contacting.  He promptly hung up.

Got this call on my cell phone which is on the do not call list.  I do not appreciate getting calls from telemarketers or anyone to whom I have not given out my number.  I will not see this movie - just because they called my cell number.

I got a call from this number so I just wanted to google it to see what it's all about.  They mentioned the movie "The Velveteen Rabbit" coming to theatres.  I loved this book when I was young.  I'm excited to bring my kids to the movie next month.
