It looks like a mass spam and a phishing expedition on Verizon Customers and I highly doubt this came from SSFCU. The origin of the text and the cheesy voice message prompting to "activate" your credit card number are very suspicious. Verizon better look into this and resolve this issue immediately.

I also received the same text @ 6:34 MT. It definitely seems to be a scam.  I don't even have an account with SSFCU so this is obviously wrong and I will not be returning the phone call.

got a text that originated through a website claiming to be a SSFCU Alert (a service I never signed up for) and asking to call this number.  Believe it is most likely a phishing scam.
