Just got the same message from the same number, I dialed it and it asked for a credit card number for reactivation.. DEFINITELY a scam...

It looks like a mass spam and a phishing expedition on Verizon Customers and I highly doubt this came from SSFCU. The origin of the text and the cheesy voice message prompting to "activate" your credit card number are very suspicious. Verizon better look into this and resolve this issue immediately.
The following SMS was sent to my Verizon Phone:
*High*
From:
my2@vtext.com
[SSFCU - Alert. Please call (626) 923-9674

Betsy 2011-02-01 01:54:30 Unknown
Received an alert from my2@vtext.com which said that I had an SSFCU alert. Not going to call back for sure
Gina 2011-02-01 01:54:19 SMS
It sent it in a text to call the number. I called and it distordedly told me to enter my card number. And then I hung up. It says that it came from my2@vtext.com

Received the same call. It's fraud. The question is, where did they get my info...
Another Verizon customer... 2011-02-01 01:50:41 Unknown
Yep, I just got a text message too... No account @ the SSFCU bank, no answer when I called the number.
Verizon employee 2011-02-01 01:49:53 Unknown
I got this message as well. I have know idea what this is .I have never heard of it. And can't even understand what it is saying. Hope no one falls for it.
Me 2011-02-01 01:49:29 Unknown
I got it too.. I wanna report it. How would I do that?
Verizon Customer 2 2011-02-01 01:49:00 Unknown
I also received the same text @ 6:34 MT. It definitely seems to be a scam. I don't even have an account with SSFCU so this is obviously wrong and I will not be returning the phone call.
Verizon Customer 2011-02-01 01:45:29 Unknown
my husband and I received the same text a couple minutes ago too. Definitely Phishing.
Bwoods 2011-02-01 01:40:57 Unknown
got a text that originated through a website claiming to be a SSFCU Alert (a service I never signed up for) and asking to call this number. Believe it is most likely a phishing scam.
