| BekkaBoo 2011-02-10 06:01:03 Unknown |
oh yeah, i also live in Albuquerque. the 772 number is from Florida. why would they have us call other states if they are trying to say they are from the credit union?
| BekkaBoo 2011-02-10 05:59:11 SMS |
I got the same text i got one yesterday (feb, 8 2011)
call-at: 626-923-9916 !S.L.F.C.U. -alert!
then today (feb, 9 2011) i got one that says:
Call at: 772-228-63700 !S.L.F.C.U. card starting with 5108-88XX is Limited!
both are from:
my02@sms.mycricket.com
i have never has any association with sandia lab federal credit union.
in any other bank things they will only show the last 4 numbers of the card/account number and block the rest out.
my brother got one too. i wonder whats going on...

I got the same message. I live in Albuquerque as well. I use a Cricket cell phone and I thought my number was not listed. Guess they might be just playing the numbers. Start out with a known prefix and hit them all. 0000, 0001, 0002.
I don't bank with Sandia. I have accounts at Wells Fargo and Bank of Albuquerque.
I got the call on Feb 8th at 6:18 PM.

Thanks Everybody for the info. I tried calling the person, ( i should have read this blog first) but nobody answerd and it hung up on itself. But yes, never give out your credit card (or SSN) over the phone, Unless you personally know that person. A Bank, grocery store, federal credit union, not even the IRS NEEEEDS your SSN or credit card, they should already have that info if its applicable. They should read your back your info if they are really legitimate.

Well it isn't a message from cricket. You can send text messages online.
http://www.mycricket.com/send-text-message-online
That website lets you send it from cricket.
I'm actually in Las Cruces but my phone is from Rio Rancho. It's just a phising scam trying to trick people. A lot of people will fall for it so make sure you spread the word!
This is not a message from cricket or from your bank!

I also received this message today from my0870@messaging.sprintpcs.com . There is a recording on the other line stating you will need 3 vital peices of information to access your card. Sounds like a scam, we deleted the messages from our cell phones.

I got the text from "my0870@messaging.sprintpcs.com. I am a sprint user. That was about 3 hrs ago. I then just received another text that said SFLCU: Call 505-859-7734. That message was from 510888@slfcu.org.
It sounds like someone hacked into Sandia Fed Credit Union. I have an albuquerque phone number but don't live iin Albq anymore. I haven't even ever opened up an account at Sandia Fed, so it sounds like they are phishing for local Albq people who potentially have an account at Sandia Fed CU. Don't respond. I work for a bank and if there is an issue, your bank will never send you a text. They will either call you directly and request you to come into a branch or send you a request in writing.

Ok, I called from my work phone and an answering machine asked me to enter my 16 digit card number to be reactivated!!! - LOL - Do these scammers (or should I say robbers) think anyone will do it???
Be careful! It's dangerous out there!
