The account that is sending these messages is a fake account set up to send these messages in hopes that you will respond to them via text message. If you do, you will be sent a link that is a front for adult dating sites or a pornographic site, according to other posters here who did text the number. Sending this link is a crime, and it carries an even bigger sentence if sent to a child.

If you get a message with this number:

1) Unfriend the person sending the message.
2) Report the account to Facebook as either fake, spam, or scam.

In order to protect your information, as there is potential for identity theft as well:

1) Go to your privacy settings at the top of the page in the left hand corner.
2) Hide the following:
Your phone number
Your email address
Your date of birth (you can hide only year if you'd prefer)
3) Hide your friend list.
Report it to:
http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

Why am I telling you to hide this information? In the case of phone number, email, and DOB, there is no real reason this needs to be on Facebook. Anybody close enough to call or email you probably already has this information stored in their phone or email contact list. They probably know your birthday as well.

As for your friend list, I believe this is how this number is finding new contacts. Hiding your friends list will prevent the people you know from falling victim.

This is on facebook by the way, i saw that number and knew she was a scammer. Plus it seemed like she had added one friend then went through all their friends and added them.

I got an invitation on FB from Jessica Poling, i accepted her invite and in a few minutes I received a message from her say

I reported the FB account and blocked her

PS: all her " friends " in FB are males...no a single female...
I will delete her as a "friend" in FB.....

I was just friend requested on FB by Nicole Martir. Her account is bare besides having a dozen friends or so. Then messages me this in a matter of seconds. "I just added you because I liked ur picture." "I seem to have lsot my number. May I have yours?" "I have to log off right now :(" and "Text me today 254-781-4785 :-)"

I also was told to call a woman at this same number, is it one of those phone scams from Nigeria?
