When it comes to phone calls keep it simple.
1. I am not aware of any law that say's you have to answer your phone.
2. Unless you really, really need it, don't use an answering machine.
3. Make sure you have caller id.
4. If you don't recognize the number or name don't answer or return the call.
5. When all else fails, use common sense.
I've followed these steps and have seen my phone calls drop off dramatically.
If you're aware of this web site, why are you calling before checking out the number? You can also check out numbers at LYCOS.com.
The do not call list is like any other rule or regulation. Generally only the good comply.

I just had that call myself...you say they are criminals...what did I just get myself in to by calling back? What are they scamming? How do I stop them from calling back.

had the same call from this number. I missed the call and tried to call it back, it said it was WCA and it said "your number 630-***-**** was subscribed on (long silent pause and no date)" and I hung up. I am also registered on the national do not call list. WTF
