Same thing everyone else reports: constant calls despite press 9 to remove from list. It is my opinion(and experience) that if you press 1 or 9 that they will Tell FTC that you requested more information from them. I am attempting to call block with my " OOMA TELO " system. If you are NOT aware of them then google them. Units can be purchased Buy.com, Best Buy and the like. It costs for the unit, under $120 plus about $8.00 for 3 months for those governm't junk fees attached to phone services for all. Plus you can call block until they try from another number.

I just got a call from 502-410-3171 AND 630-409-6787 back to back. I'm on the do not call list.  The voice mails left are the same for both phone numbers.  I block the call and they will call back under a different phone number.  Very frustrating.

Got a phone call (2:47pm) from an out-of-state number that I didn't "know" or recognize.
(Does this mean that they are involved in Interstate Fraud?)
As always, I didn't answer, but looked up the number here.
They, of course, left no message.

I am on the National Do-Not-Call List, and have been for over a year now.
(I guess this is our government at work for us.)

I'm going to
http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
AND to
https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
and see if that can get the government to work for me, and stop these calls.
(Yes I will go through all those steps.)
We should all pile on.

Contact your congressperson to pass a law against telephone number spoofing and crack down on illegal telemarketing calls that violate the DNC list.

Recorded credit card scam phone call. I got a call on my mobile phone and voicemail from this shameless outfit.

They use vishing (voice phishing) techniques, including a robo dialer with software to pretend they are calling from somewhere else. A woman's voice says that you do not have any credit card problems, but are eligible to lower your credit card interest rates. And then it asks you to press "1" to speak with a live operator.

Total scam. They ignore the Do Not Call lists. Do not give them any credit card info.

Add this number to your blocked list or add the number to your phone list with "No Name" for the caller, and set the ringer to silent. The call will still show up, but you will not be interrupted as though it was a real phone call.

Funny thing - I also get lots of calls on my home phone (also on the DO NOT CALL list)  from a different scam outfit - using recorded calls - offering a special for carpet cleaning. So there are many scam outfits doing versions of these recorded phone calls. I hope the FCC and other Federal agencies get their act together and figure out how to identify and prosecute the offenders.

These companies have auto-dialers...their programs generate number lists and the auto-dialer goes right down the lists dialing...when someone answer, whether it be your or your voice mail...whats for your acknoledgement..press 1 to speak to an operator, other number to add to do not call list..which only saves your number, as a good number, then persists to continue calling.  The DO NOT CALL LIST...DOES NOT WORK..neither does contacting the FCC OR FTC...what you can do is:  press one to speak to an operator,,play along with them, get all the information as if you are interested...everything, phone numbers, name of company, address if possible..."remember to act very interested"..however at this time, you are ready to walk out the door to a dr appt, so cannot commit, but will be calling them back.  Now, what you do is, log every single time they call you...number, time, date...then you take them to civil court...file a complaint, they will be charged 1500. per incident.  This and only this is how you beat them at your own game.  GOOD LUCK!!

People from this number has been calling me numerous times regarding credit card interest.  I am on the "do not call" list.  The call is automated and when you push a button for an associate and try to request to be removed from the list, they hang up immediately.  It is very annoying.  I have no credit card debt to transfer and want the calls to stop.

You are getting these calls because the persons behind the company that does this does not care about little unenforceable things like DNC.  Until and unless the feds get serious about attacking and charging these firms, this will not only continue, it will accelerate.  But Wait.....this means the government would have MORE power, and then they might make me stop freeloading on the health care system and actually have to take some responsibility for my life.  Never mind.

Got the first few seconds of the call, hung up on it and added the number to my blacklist (Android NQ Mobile Manager, free version). With the app I don't need to worry about calls continuing to come in at all hours. Of course, the list IS growing for what is on the blacklist, but I'm ok with that. Plus, it's easy to add numbers to the blacklist. :D

Disgusted with:
I agree with you that "reputable" companies sell our phone numbers to these telemarketing/scam businesses and that's how they get our information.

I don't answer calls from phone numbers I do not recognize, because as soon as I answer calls from telemarketers, they'll know that it's a number that they can keep calling and that they can even resell to other scam businesses for profit.

It's a shame that our govt. is not doing enough to stop this.

This is a scam.  They are trying to get you to tell them your account numbers so they can use your cards.  Do not call complaints are the least of their problems considering they are also up for numerous fraud charges as well and there are Federal investigations into them already.  Most of the phone numbers they use are dumb-drops that re-rout to real numbers, they have the software in place to tell your phone what number they call for.  This had made catching them nearly impossible since traces often lead to abandon buildings instead of real businesses.

They call me all the time.  I don't answer and they leave a message that consists of one or two words. Hard to pick on the caller - they are trying to make a buck in this Obama Economy we are dealing with. Would love a few minutes in an alley with their boss though....
