just called me at 9:18 am on a sunday morning. have no idea who it is and they didnt leave a message

I called the number back. Got a recorded message that my number will be removed from their data base in 48 hours. Couldn't make out the name of the company, as the young lady in the recorded message "slurred" the name. Interesting. Let them call again and I'll get the Feds on their backs!!!

I did the same it was removed and it said your number was remove from the list.
I got the name of it somethin along the lines of offer clearing house

did not answer, received a partial recording.  i do not know how they got the number they are calling, since its my google voice number and i have not given the number out to anyeone.

I get at least one call per day from either 630-869-6653 or 630-869-6679 I use my cell for specific reasons from known persons so it never gets answered.

They call my cell often but I never answer...

They like to try me on Saturdays, today is 9/11/10 and even today...

They must have a huge range of #'s no wonder we have a new area code every week

Put a whistle by your phone so next time they call let them get all involved with what they are trying to tell you then blow the whistle as loud as you can in the phone. Telemarketers usually have a headset so they will be throwing this thing off their head. Just call it telemarketer justice.

they call me several time, but fortunatelly as a procedure if I can't identify the number, I never answer, if is important they should leave a message. Do the same; never answer unidentified calls, wait for a message, if you are not instered just delete.

They called me many times. I have never answered.

this freakng number kept calling me on my sleep during the day...since i work graveyard, its so annoying and ive requested to the caller to take me off but still they bother me on my sleeping hours.

All you have to do is tell them that they are legally bound to tell you who they are and who they represent, and that if they continue to call you after you request that they desist, that you will press charges against them for harassment. I did this and they, along with a few others (same company obviously) never called me again. With that said, I did have to contact them, because like others here, I got hung up on when I demanded to speak with someone of actual authority.

Also keep in mind that if you have a phone that is free, such as a safelink phone, you are basically giving them permission to solicit you in exchange for that service. However, you, I do know people who have safelink and have successfully stopped these calls, but I think it's a roll of the dice with a free phone.

How are these things getting my number?!

I answered this call and its from wca and they are trying to offer me a free gas card and walmart card. they said i qualify for those cards due to recent purchases with my card. and i asked them how they got my number and he kinda panicked! and i said i just want to know how you got personal information about me and he said he was unable to tell me any information about it unless i confirmed my address and other info! when i asked to speak to a supervisorhe hung up!

Just got a call from this number.  Seeing as how I never answer numbers that are unfamiliar to me, I did not answer this one.  They did however leave a message - a recorded voice selling something. I didn't bother listening to it, delete and hang up.

I'd advise anyone not to answer a call from an unfamiliar number.  If it is important, they will leave a message.  If it's one of the annoying prerecorded calls, just delete.  

Also, most phones now have a feature that will allow you to turn your ringer off for non-grouped phone numbers.  Turn ringer on for people you want to talk to and off for every one else.  You won't be bothered with unwanted calls.  Problem solved.  :D

i did not answer.  I've been getting lots of these types of calls lately and have been writing down the numbers.
