CALL, PROBABLY FROM INDIA, CLAIMING TO BE "nATIONAL cREDIT cENTER" TO "LOWER YOUR DEBTS". MOST LIKELY A SCAM

Keeps calling 6 - 7 times a day.  Saying someone gave our names as reference.  No idea what they are talking about, and they keep calling.  Sometimes, it is a female caller, sometimes it is a male caller.  Not leaving messages at our ansering machine.

Got call on 9/30 after 7pm..heavily accented male voice wanted to contact me about   credit card debt I have not ever paid.  I asked tonight what cc did I owe money on and he said he did not know and that's when I blew a gasket in his ear...hope he got the message but I doubt it.... I informed him I had none and told him if he had anything to discuss with me concerning my credit he was to put it in writing and mail it to me and until then I had nothing I wanted to discuss with him. He hung up....I have rec'd calls before ( caller  using this National Credit Center.name but different number) telling me I owed a book club, that was paid over 4 years ago. I always tell them to put t it in writing and I never hear from them aboput that particular call.  I can not always let it ring.  I have to answer as I have family out of state and so I just belt them with the mail me the info and generally they hang up and I get a little peace and quiet for a few days. Reporting them gets you no where. Too many smart people know how to spoof and number, etc.  Just never give your email addy to one.

I picked up the phone and couldn't understand what the person was saying, their voice was faint as if standing far from phone.  I asked him to repeat couple of times and then he just hung up.

These fools were calling me 4 and 5 times a day for about four months. About 3 months into this ordeal I spoke with the 'indian' on the line at length (about 20 minutes) without divulging any truthful information until he suggested I do sexual things to myself in front of the mirror. Then told him that "That would be the ugliest date I ever had!" upon which he cursed profusely and hung up. Then for about another month this fool called daily and if I answered the phone he repeated his suggestion for me to perform certain acts in front of a mirror. They definitely put me on some kind of list for wasting their time/ money. Too Bad.

My Parents are receiving calls from this fake company but they will only speak to my parents. Each time someone other than my parents answer they hang up. What can be done to prevent these types of callers from preying on our Sr. Citizens?

I love getting these calls. I have a ball waisting there time. I spent 20 minutes hooking this guy in making him think I was going to let him have my credit card info so he could start a payment plan. Then I told him the only way I was going to agree with it was if he would pay for 2 hookers to come over and spend the night. He cussed me out and hung up. It was great...... :)

It is an international call.  Keeps calling my wife's cell phone but leaves no message and when I try to call back I get a message saying the international call cannot be completed.  Got to be a scammer...I make an international call and the line stays busy.

HI WAS AT MY COMPUTER PUT THE NUMBER THAT WAS CALLING ON MY BLACKBERRY CELL, INTO GOOGLE, AND SO I GOT THIS WEBSITE AND DIDNT ANSWER.

SO IF YOU ARE AT YOUR COMPUTER AND YOU DONT RECOGNIZE A NUMBER
JUST GOOGLE IT AND THEN DONT ANSWER IT OR TELL THEM TO REMOVE YOU FROM THEIR CALLING LIST

Received a call on my home phone by someone with a thick Indian accent, who claimed his name is "Josh Matthews" of "American Financial Services." He kept asking for "Mary" which is not my name, and when I said that I had trouble understanding him, he slammed the phone down in my ear.  Caller Id showed "Franjon Steward."

No don't call him, it is a fake ID that overseas lead companies use, see my post above. They can change the caller ID to any name they want. Google ?live lead transfers?
Again, there are 2 ways to try to stop it.  
1) Ask your congressman to add to the do not call list for fines for companies buy and selling leads from illegal sources that break the Do not call list. Now the fines are placed on companies in US (or any country with do not call restrictions) from calling you. But now lead companies are calling from outside the country with people that have low morals like India and getting paid $3-$10 dollar per lead. But, the companies buying the illegal leads get away with it. So need to change the law.
2) Listen to the pitch, and get transferred the mortgage, dept settlement, or whatever. Ask information of company you are transferred too. Say a dept company like name, company name, website, phone number. Then tell them that they are and illegal lead source and you want to know what it is and there contact information. They post the lead sources information on this site, scam.com, Howard Clark, complaints.com etc.

I also got this phone call from a woman with a foreign accent.  She stated she would offer us a way to pay down debt with no interest and proceeded to ask personal questions.  I explained I would not answer any questions unless I know who I am speaking to, and asked a company name or phone number to call them back.  She said that she is not asking for my account numbers or anything like that, but I insisted on a company name before I would answer any questions, so she hung up on me!

Here is a plan to stop or slow them down.
They also use 718-209-9182. They are a lead company. They will ask you questions about dept and sell your name to a person in your country for $5-$15 dollars. They do not follow the do not call list. Or care if you get into a driving accident answering you cell phone. So hear is the plan...
The best way to find the company behind this is to pretend to have a dept problem, then when you get transfer to the person, Act interested and get the name of the dept settlement company and website, address and call back number. Ask the person who is the company that you are paying for the lead? Do they have a wesite?  How are you paying. Then tell them that what the lead company is doing is illigeal and ask to speak to the mangage so you can have them stop using that lead company.
I know there are US lead companies that follow the do not call list.
You can do this agian and agian.  And slowly they will lose clients.
Post the lead company on this site, they may change there name.

same number called me. exactly the same story

I got a call asking if I wanted to do an interest free loan ..listened and told her no thankyou! She called my back 5 times in a row ..finally I asked her to quit calling..she said no because I wasted her time and would not listen to her!!! Who does that!!! Not a legitamite business!!!! Said she was from Trust Financial....

I received a call from multiple people claining to be from National Credit. The number that appeared was 631-345-5336. They ask alot of questions and when i asked, they said they were given my information from my CC companies themselves. I asked them for thier personal number and told them i'd give them a call back at a time convienent for me. They got really mad and hung up. They called back again and i asked them to take me off thier list and told them i am on a do not call list. They hung up on me and i get 2-3 calls a day from them for the last month. I want it to stop.

Caller ID showed "Yaphank, NY 631-345-5336"  I didn't answer it.  When I tried to call the number, automated voice said the number wasn't in service.

I continually receive calls from this phone # when they asked for me by name I ask who I am speaking with and when they tell me their name I then ask from what company they are calling from they hang up. One time they asked for me by name and I told them that this was not sheila's phone and the guy Indian I think replyed well then why are you wasting my F@#$%$@ time you stupid women and then hung up.

States he is an attorney.  Was asking questions about unsecured debt.
Advised they negotiate a settlement with credit companies - for me to
pay less than what I owe - so that I can get out of debt in 3 yrs.  States
tho in the process - my credit will be ruined.........(Hello - there's a RED FLAG).
But - like a dummy, I let him go on.  Stated that by showing the credit card
comanies - I am having a financial hardship - they will accept a lesser amount
to settle my account - key factor is - I am NOT in a financial "hardship".  I pay
my bills.  I had to end the call because something came up.  I was however,
given a phone # just in case you may be interested...888-660-4845
Tho' I was asked for nor did I give out any financial information, I do however,
feel this is NOT a legitimate company or business.

Lol I just talked to the same prick that called me from that number yesterday. I hope he calls again, i'ma have fun f****n with him. It's a scam anyway. If it were a real company, they would'nt be hanging up in your face.

CALLED MY PHONE 3 DAYS IN A ROW. WHEN I ANSWER MY PHONE NO ONE SPEAKS. WHEN I CALL THE NUMBER BACK I GET A PHONE MESSAGE NOT IN SERVICE,

Foreign speaking person said they were calling from "First Financial" and said that I was currently paying over 6% on my credit cards and that they could offer to lower my debt. When he asked me if my address was  *****, I hung up.

I answered phone and got a man with a name of "hindi" claiming he was a representative of National Credit. Offered a negotiated pay down of my credit cards when I'm not looking for one. He asked my current debt amount ( I didnt give him an accurate amount) and told him that I was not interested in assistance at this time. He was pleasant but pushed me to speak to his supervisor and attempted to coach me with answers I should provide to this supervisor. He asked me to wait while he got his supervisor on the line, I hung up. They called back very quickly but left no message.
