I just got a call on my cell phone that came up as 911.
When I answered it - they claim to be: Officer  Stan Marshall.
He was hard to understand and was not very friendly as well.
He claims I owe money for some loan that I do not have.
For some bank account that I never even had.
He wants me to call him back - but I know I will NOT!

I have been getting the same calls for almost a year now.  Hve reported to every available bureau and they still come.  They just called a place I used to work at and the H.R. caleed me at home and described the caller to me.  Came up under Google as Gor Johnson Law Firm.  Heavy accent.  Callers name was Barry Richrdson.   These guys are pathetic!  I hope no one sends any money.

I have received several calls from this number. The ask for a "John" or "Jack" and I cannot make out the last name. The caller is male with a heavy accent. The name he identifies himself with is "Officer Ross."When I ask him where he is calling (expecting him to give the name of MY city) since he claims to be calling about a court case, all he will say is that he calling from Babylon, NY. I googled the 631 area code and it comes up as Long Island, NY. Finally I called my local police department to file a complaint. My phone number is on the Do Not Call Registry, I have filed complains there, as well as with the FCC. Thankfully AT&T allows me to block phone numbers. Other posters have said that they will call from different numbers. Does anyone know what the different numbers are so I can block those too?

Oh my gosh.. i have that same guy "George" that has been harrasing and threatening me with my arrest. I have no clue what this is about. I repeatedly asked what the call was in reference to and i was basicly told to be quiet and let him speak. I told him that i will have my lawyer call him back and so he got very nasty on the phone and hung up on me. I didnt really understand what he said.. Very scary.. but glad to see these posts because obviously it's a scam.

Debt Collector
Same types of incidents as already detailed. Thick accents (Indian?) using Anglo names like Officer Ross Parker, Ted White, Matt Brown, etc. One time I got a call from Officer KING LEAR: What an insult to Shakespeare. I asked to speak to Officers MACBETH, OTHELLO, and HAMLET (none of whom, by the way, were available according to KING LEAR). Just goes to show you how stupid these jerks really are. And they call repeatedly (12xs within 20 minutes?)

Have filed reports repeatedly but nothing seems to be done about it. They just keep changing their phone numbers and starting over again. Maybe these calls are being somehow patched through from India. It wouldn't surprise me a bit!

THIS IS A SCAM. Scammers are using bought/hacked loan application data to extort payments for fictitious debts from victims and victims' families and friends.
The FBI warns about payday loan extortion scams here http://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/paydayloanscam_120710
The BBB has issued several alerts on this scam, just google "bbb.org alert phony debt collector"
Report to the Internet Crime Complaint Center http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG, as appropriate.

I got calls from the same guy, with the same story line. I contacted the police and filed a report, they couldn't do much, but an officer did come over and spoke on the phone with "George" who became irate. The following day he called back from a different number, and it turned into a nasty shouting match. I then filed a fbi fraud report, called the SSA office, the credit bureaus to put an alert on my ss#.  I hate the there is nothing that can be done to stop these guys. However, i started harassing them and calling them over and over again making threats to them. They did not like that! I then posted the situation and the the phone # on my FB status to have more people harass them.

this number calls every day.  Mr Williams says he is from a law office that represents payday loan companies, and if i dont pay $450 then i am going to be arrested.  I have no pay day loans out and have no idea why he keeps callin. He speaks in a very heavy accent so its hard to understand what the name it.
