keep getting calls from this number. How annoying!

I have also been receiving these annoying phone calls from this 631-576-8419 number. i am going to call Verizon to request that this number be blocked...it is so annoying, i work from home, and it always rings at the most unoppertune time. Cory, go away, go away! i think this is an invasion of my privacy, and want it to stop. It is more than annoying, it is disabilitating...If Verizon doesnt agree to block it, i am shutting down my land line and just going to use my cell...i suggest that everyone above do the same. have it blocked if possible.

Ok, well i have been getting these phonecalls since I was 11, cause ive had the same number. its some debt collection agency asking me if i was this woman, whos name i had never heard before. This is soooo annoying!

i also get unknown numbers, but the name is rec just like the others listed here say this number is for... so i guess its all from the same company...ergggg

sick of this. and now they are also calling my new cell number i got less than a month ago... how can they get that? and they are calling for someone other than me so how could they link the house number to my personal cell number i only got less than a month ago??? this is nuts!

They call constantly every day.

I got automated calls constantly from an unknown caller. I found out it was from collection agency, IRR, Independent Recovery Resources, call center tel: 631-576-8419  who was constantly for months asking if I was Harry Soto. I am not Harry Soto and finally spoke to them, telling them they could do a reverse telephone number check and see Harry Soto doesn't hold my number and then they wouldn't tell me their company name, phone number, or location and just hung up on me. No one hangs up on me!! I finally dialed *69 and got their number. I called irate and told someone I was not Harry Soto. They immediately hung up on me. I called again and spoke to a Jennifer, gave her my phone number and that I'm not Harry Soto, and complained that they were harassing me with their automated calls and asked for the name of their company. Jennifer hung up on me. I called again and got Scott. I immediately asked to speak to a supervisor. Yelling at me, he told me they had already removed me from their list and angrily told me to "Stop calling us." I yelled back that I will continue to call them. They should know how it feels to be harassed with unwanted phone calls. Their call center is 631-576-8419. IRR's NY Office TOLL FREE number during business hours 9am to 5pm, is 866-271-6721. I keep getting calls as well.  Thank goodness for this site because I am not calling them back.  If I am behind in anything, then they should send it through the mail!  Nobody should ever give out any info over the phone these days.

Same here, this number and several similar keep calling. Unfortunately for them, i have no answering machine, and don't answer unknown calls. I've been residing 500 miles away from the 631 area code for a few years now, and they just started calling about three months ago. This website is excellent btw!

Same here! some B.S. about owing a copay from 6 years ago and saying I owe a 35$ copay. Its always a recording and they call 3 to 4 times a day. Very annoying !!!!!!

I have been receiving phone calls on my cell phone constantly.  Three or four times a day.  It is a recorded message asking if I am Lisa A---- and if it is not Lisa A----, hang up.  I called them back and the name is Independent Collection Agency.  Someone named Scott said I have an outstanding debt that they are trying to collect from Southampton Hospital Agency.  He knew the year I was born.  When he realized I was calling from a different phone number other than my cell, he refused to speak, assuming that I was not  me (Lisa) and said have Lisa call me back that all the calls were being recorded.

Received several phones calls from this number.  My husband finally returned the call.  The man who answered  said his name was Cory.  He told my husband he had an outstanding co-payment on a job related chest x-ray he had done in Astoria in June 2005!  He said it was $35.00 and Liberty Mutual (we never had Liberty Mutual) refused to pay it.  My husband said there is no co-pay under worker's comp.  Then he wanted my husband to verify the last 4 digits of his Social Security which Cory spoke.  That is when I jumped in and told my husband not to identify anything and to have Cory send us paperwork.  Cory again asked my husband to verify the last 4 digits of his SS and again I interfered and said have him mail you papers.  Cory then mentioned an old street address we have not lived at for over 10 years!  My husband said that is not our address.  Do you want the new one?  I told my husband not to give him any info.  Cory got annoyed and hung up.
