Repeated calls from a fellow with a heavy NY accent, claiming to be from a firefighter's charity, collecting money "for the children".  Very aggressive fellow, especially after I told him that I don't take solicitations over the phone.  He called back a few months later insisting that I committed to donate money and telling me that he had a recording of our conversation as proof.  He told me that they've sent me letters in the mail reminding me of my promise, which I never received.  I asked him to please stop calling me and he became argumentative and then hung up on me.  I've never had any charity beg me for money and argue with me about it at the same time.  Not a very effective way to solicit for money.

the police dept do not call and if you call you police dept they would tell you so.  they are scammers when they call never donate to them.
and if you say they get paid enough from the public we need people serving the public you are wrong .Who pays you and there will be plenty of people who think you get paid too much if you work at all.I do not and no one in my family is a public worker but am very thankful for police and firemen and they never solicate on phone .Do your homework

No reason to ever donate to these overpaid ;public servants' especially since the solicitors of the money keep more than 75% of it. DoNotCall law needs to be changed to INCLUDE these scammers.

called and confirmed my name then hung up..tried to call back..automatic operator said extension not in service..scammer!!!

Answerd and they said they were NY state police chief association. Idk if they are scammers. Said I had to donate at least 15 dollars. Idk.
