Basically a UPS store.  Located in a really run-down area of a small town in New York.  So typical of the kitchen-table debt scammers that are attracted to New York state for some reason.

Very Rude. What kind of company cant tell you who they are but yet keeps calling you. I have asked several times to be taken off the list and they are still not taking me off. The lady who said her name was Abby hung up on me and then said she would do it again. This lady was very rude and its apparently some kind of scam number

I was auto dialed. Pressed #3, a female rep came on the line after a minute. She asked if I were Betty "Somebody" (I am obviously male). She categorically refused to identify her company repeatedly. I promised to report her to the FCC if she didn't identify her company, but she in essence said "ok" to that as if that didn't matter in the slightest. I demanded to speak to her supervisor & she refused, saying she was the supervisor. Hung up on me. I called back & again demanded to know the name of her company "immediately" and that if she didn't tell me immediately she would telling it to a lawyer. She said "the lawyer then". This company has zero regard for the law or privacy or the "National Do Not Call" registry, which I am on. They need to be taken down, and taken down HARD, by the FCC!!!

I've gotten several hang up calls from this number on my cell but no message.  I called them back and the rude woman that answered, but just saying hello nonetheless, said my number isn't in their system.  Even though they just had called me an hour or so earlier.  I'm sure this is one of the those companies that buys old debt then they end up talking with people like me when the cell number they had for the debtor is reassigned.  If a someone contacts you to collect a debt and doesn't start the conversation by identifying themselves as a licensed dept collector and telling you that you're being recorded you can rest assured it's a bottom feeder that has purchased an old debt list hoping to scare some senior citizens into paying bills that aren't theirs'.  Legitimate collectors will identify themselves because they like their license and they have to be licensed to call themselves that.

This company has been calling for a long time. I work hours that do no match with their calls. When advising them they had reach a wrong number, they advise me that I should have called them weeks ago. There is actually a federal regulation when it comes to collections and they violated most of the protocol and chose to inform me I did not know what I was talking about.

They asked for me by name. But not on my phone, but my stepfathers number. They said "can you relay a message" to me. I've never lived with him. Used his phone. or even knew his number. He asked who they were, they didn't answer. He asked how they got his number, they didn't answer. He said well you wont even tell me who you are so I'm not passing anything. They hung up. How would they make that connection?

They called me today, saying that a cellphone account was opened in my name and social and the account has a balance of 4000 something. I did not get to the legal department, but when I asked when the account was opened, she told me 2004. I then said well, it was not me then, because I was not in the US in 2004. She hang up before I even finished that sentence. I am concerned about how these people got my name and last four digits of my social.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Have the person they call give the company your number or call them yourself.  Tell them you only want to be contacted via U.S. Mail.  If they fail to discontinue calling you may have a claim under the Fair Debit Collections Act

If you get these calls you can file a scam report on your attorney generals website. Only takes a few minutes. Not sure if it will stop the calls but maybe someday the will get caught.

I have received calls from this number and 800-701-7565 for about 6 months at one point they even impersonated a police officer on the phone letting me know they were on their way to arrest me. They claim its an old debt from us bank. Its been resolved many many years ago. I spoke with the attorney general he assured me it was a scam and to keep reporting it. I also get personal satisfaction calling them and telling them I know they are scamming me and I am not stupid etc I prefer to cuss at them as well. It makes me feel better to call them out. If they are going to keep bothering me I will keep bothering them.
