you can request a copy of the bill to trigger your memory, sadly the spouse  becomes responsible for  joint debt..

no one can call 20 times unless u have 20 different #S it sounds like you may have multiple collectors calling you. NO ONE calls 20 times in one day...

ok but are you the person they are trying to reach because if you are and you owe money even changing #s wont work at some point the issue of non payment will come up  meaning credit report and ignoring it may take a huge hit on the score

it goes both ways!! they could have sue you for not paying your bills,,so who is the crook?

how about saying yes its me!!remember most people who owe hide so of course if you say its not me but keep asking questions it sounds like your the  person pretending to be someone else..if you disclose ur the spouse the will tell everything if your not they cannot tell you anything due to privacy laws...how would like for your elderly granny to ask questions about it and being told personal info like std test or abortion...so yes be upfront to avoid  the issue if its not you say wrong number and dont ask anything else....

Bottomline if someone owed you money you would be pissed too ..people need to stop making excuses and hiding from financial responsabilities with the so call SOL  all that means is that they cant sue you it doesnt mean it will come off report or that collecting attempts cannot be made...no wonder the economy is so bad..a legacy of debtbeats  for our kids

Simply say its not you , or wrong #  or you called me at this # it wrong...preaching wont resolve anything ..calling to bother cause you think your getting even could get you in trouble instead..

I've been harrassed by this calls for months. I finally called the number to tell them I'd report them to bbb and they immediately removed my number. its a scam. I had no debt.

I receive calls from this number at least 20 times daily.

The call is from a collection agency.  They do not leave voicemails, though.

I have gotten the same call.  How can we block this number???  Its a collection agency that tells me to press 2 if they have the wrong number but whenever I press it it says that they are out of their normal working hours!!!

i am gettin calls from this number 8 times a day when i call them there is no way to talk to a person they want an account number-which i don't have. i have no idea what they want. they are so annoying

My rule of thumb is not to answer any unknown incoming calls. When you do answer a call and the caller does not identify themself within .2 tens of a second, hang up.

I receive calls constantly from this number with no identification or message - there has to be a way to block this number or find out who is making these calls.  My number is also registered with the gov do not call list - obviously it does not prevent these calls.

I know of many people who have been scammed by receiving bills for stuff that was so long ago, they were not sure about it, And paid them to keep their credit clean.  This is a common scam for older people - Be aware.  I have called them back to ask what they want and when I question them they say Oh it was our mistake and the calls stop for a while. They call from a new number every now and again, but the call back number is always 631-758-3443

Well if they don't tell me waht they want or where they are from, they can call my phone till there fingers fall off, or their machine breaks.  I do NOT call people back unless I know where they are from and there are SO many collection schemes these days, I wouldn't send anyone money without a bill from the actual company that says you owe them money.  This could be a scam and you won't know unless you INSIST on an actual bill directly from the originating company.

I too have been getting calls from this number and it's NOT only this number but always the same Robot person.  If someone wants to speak to me they are more than welcome to leave a message by a person with a number of a Person that I can contact to discuss this, but they do not, so they can continue to pretend that I owe money to someone, which I do not, but until they have the courtesy to have a PERSON call me, they will never speak to me ever

For the past three years a female robot from 631 758  3443 has called 3-4 times a week "with an important message for XXX XXXXXX," my late husband who died five years ago. My husband and I paid all bills promptly for 40 years. This is either a scam or simply malicious. I hang up as soon as I hear that voice and would not know what their message was had it not been recorded one time on my answer machine. They left a second telephone number which was deliberate muffled, omitting the final two numbers so that I am unable to check their second phone number. This is annoying and a bit frightening.

I got automated calls constantly from an unknown caller. I found out it was from collection agency, IRR, Independent Recovery Resources, call center tel: 631-576-8419  who was constantly for months asking if I was Harry Soto. I am not Harry Soto and finally spoke to them, telling them they could do a reverse telephone number check and see Harry Soto doesn't hold my number and then they wouldn't tell me their company name, phone number, or location and just hung up on me. No one hangs up on me!! I finally dialed *69 and got their number. I called irate and told someone I was not Harry Soto. They immediately hung up on me. I called again and spoke to a Jennifer, gave her my phone number and that I'm not Harry Soto, and complained that they were harassing me with their automated calls and asked for the name of their company. Jennifer hung up on me. I called again and got Scott. I immediately asked to speak to a supervisor. Yelling at me, he told me they had already removed me from their list and angrily told me to "Stop calling us." I yelled back that I will continue to call them. Calling 20 times a day and ask for some name and ask me to hang up. Since I am not at home to press the keys if you are so and so press one if not two; they call me all the time and my message box is full and annoying calls

They have been calling from last summer 2008 regarding a copay $35.00 from 9 years ago from an ER visit that we never got a bill for The SOL for NY is 6 years.. They call me or a machine does at least 4 times a week and on Sundays they are done now cause I am reporting them to the Attorney General.. I checked my credit report too they are not on there..

I receive call almost everyday from this company. I have told them that they have the wrong phone number & to never call here again. They were also told that this number is on the "Do Not Call" registry. They keep ignoring this and call anyways. These "SCUMBAGS" won't quit calling. Now I am going to get hold of the FCC to try to get them Fined for their harrassing calls.

Mys on recieved a cell phone for Christmas, these creditors keep calling and leaving msgs and taking up his minutes. I contacted the company 3 x and when you can ACTUALLY get through to someone they say that they will mark it in the files that this number no longer belongs tow homever they are looking for, but as of yet they have not stopped calling!

They have been calling my cell phone for 2 weeks. They are trying to collect a debt from someone I don't know. I found their website which has a main phone number to call back.
