Caller, woman with accent, asks about prices and gives an excuse to get off the phone and hangs up. Definitely a scam of some sort, be very careful and don't answer any questions that are out of the norm which you would tell a regular client. It's difficult because sometimes we all have clients from out of state, but better safe than sorry later. I'm glad there are forums like this so when I had the suspicion, I see the exact same thing happened to so many others so that I know I can ignore these calls without feeling guilty. Reported to the FTC as dangerous telemarketing.

They call all the time asking our prices on various items

these people call even when i ask them to stop.  they have become rude.

Just got a call from this person asking all kinds of prices for my detailing shop. Then, when we heard all the prices she said that she would stop by and hung up before i could tell her we are appointment ONLY.

A call from this number for no reason from NY. No one should be calling us from NY this time of year. We are a seasonal business. Something is weird.

Lady called my work from this number.  She was asking what our hours were.  Said she would have to look at her schedule to set up an apt.  I think she is someone who works from home getting paid to update location hours and such on websites.  Comes up on the caller ID as Bay Shore NY.

I received a call from this number this morning. They wanted our office hours for weekdays and weekends. As this is a common call for us, I gave them the hours and when I asked for his name he hung up. I can't call the number back. It won't even ring. I looked up on internet as to find a owner and found this forum instead. Someone should really do something to stop these people.

Got a call from a lady with an accent, asking about hours of operation, and she said she might stop by next week when she is in town. Strange

The same thing just happened to me.  Woman with Indian accent just called my salon.  Asking about hi-lite/low-lite pricing then face framing prices, and I knew something was up when she said do you offer a "glaze"....Sorry, but the regular inquiring client does not know that lingo.  She was calling from a 631 area code.  At the end of the call she said "ok, I will check our schedules and drop by next week"....Yea ok....

Woman with an accent just called my salon, asking our tanning prices. I said, you are calling from NY! She replied, yes but I will be in town next week for Christmas. Wow, tell me another one!

These people called my shop asking for an oil change...I said we don't do oil changes. Heavy accent lots of pauses in the conversation...I hung up as I knew this was a strange area code for my area

Same type of call from this number.  The caller had an Asian accent and asked about our pricing for men's and women's haircuts.  She asked for our email address (we don't give that info out to unknown callers) and hung up when I asked for the name of the business she works for.  The call sounded like it was from overseas.

Yup! Got a call today from this same number, girl with accent (spanish?), asking for prices for "all over color", permanent waving, hair extensions, and blow-out. Weird.

Yeah got a call from them today and asked about color and extensions and blow outs...Tried calling them back but nothing happened. I think I'll call my local congressmen to look into this...NOT HAPPY!

Lady with Indian accent called my hair salon in Vegas pretending to be an interested new customer- but was clearly reading from a script trying to find out a list of all our prices- she had an almost robotic voice- when I confronted her and asked what company she was calling from she robotically denied and continued to press on for prices for our services. There was no doubt she was reading a script from a screen. She backed off and hung up when she realised I was wise to her tricks

Call asking for all sorts of personal information about business ect.: hours, rates, owners name, do I accept credit cards and if I they could schedule an appointment.  Very bad feeling about call.  Individual wanted to schedule but was calling from NY.  When I told her she should find a doctor closer to her she hung up.

Got a call from a call this afternoon asking for our business hours and if we had appointments on Sat or Sun. We are located in Missouri. I asked her if she wanted to schedule an appointment and she said no, she needs to check her schedule. She didn't seem like someone who normally calls about getting an appointment with our doctor/massage therapist. She asked for our email address as well. There after, received two random calls with a fax dialtone from 636-736-4373 (saw from another blog that this number ...I didn't answer. It sounded like it was recording right when I picked up so I just hung up. I also then received a junk fax from 720-606-7103 from NETPROWA. Hope this helps other people ....

Strange call. Asking for personal information similar to the others who left comments. It was weird. Made no since.

I got a phone call to our shop and asking for the prices and the boss number.  I called back but not status or no ring.  Our shop is CA and this number called from NY.  This is prank call if any of you got this call, please do not give out your information.

Just received a call asking for prices on Brazilian Waxing, I gave her the price and then she asked about eyelash tinting.  I starting getting suspicious and told her we dont have a set price yet.
She also asked for my email and cell phone number.  I told her she called our store and that is our only number she asked for our email and I told her to go to our website.  Some people can't make prices or hours on their own and need to copy other reputable company's

I just received a call from this number.
A young girl asked for our fees for cleanings and xrays(dental office).
Said she was in New York but from our area,
Wanted my email and cell phone.
I did not give her either one
Sounded suspicious.
Hang up when I asked if she wanted to make an appointment.

They called asking for hours of operation, which, in our office, vary by day. I tried to explain this, but they were very persistent about getting JUST the hours. Didn't ask for fees, didn't ask for doctor's credentials, etc... very random. I called their bluff and they ended up hanging up on me.

I have gotten a few calls from the number asking what my drop in prices are for a yoga class. When I tell them I only do privates that are individually scheduled, they say thanks and hang up. Once I was able to ask where they got my number and they said the yellow pages. When I try to call I get nothing. Word indeed!

Received a call from this number, a girl with an asian accent - asked for the price of each yoga class, asked for the monthly price for classes, then asked for my email address. I replied, you just called me, why do you need my email address. But gave it to her. I asked her name and she hung up on me.

Asked my rates.  Something felt off.  Asked what my email was in case she decided to book an appointment later.  I told her it is best to call for appointments.  She asked if I had a cell phone.  Told her she had called on my cell.  I have a feeling spam texts could be coming my way.

Got a call about hours for the week and weekend also ask to book appointment using email and ask for it. Just gave website for more infomation. Like above just had a bad feeling he would not answer my questions just ask them very quickly. This number is out of NY. Nothing good will come of it.

I got the immediate feeling that this was a phishing call...the accent etc and the wierd questions and lack of answers..and the fact that you can't call back and they hang up on you...my gut said something was wrong..I should have immediately told her I would call back.  Hope this isn't going to be a problem for me.

I also got a wierd call from them...accent sounded like the phillipines..said she got a puppy as a gift from her brother..a cocker spaniel...didn't know the age..was from the bronx and was moving to saugerties...wanted to know how much boarding was..said that her dog went in the house..when I repeated this with surprise she hung up.  I tried to call back but can't get anything..call drops.  Very wierd and I had a bad feeling from the beginning.
