someone called my in-laws house, said they were from Fedex and asked to verify our home address.

They called to confirm address (although they never said the address) for a mail company? I called the number back , only to hear it wasnt a working number.

I think they?re skip tracers for a debt collector called EBO Financial.  They?ve called me 3 times in the past 4 days.
I?ve notated each call on 800Notes.  Then a did a google search for 800Notes Ballwin MO and this is what I found.

the caller called and inquired about our address, because they had a delivery for my husband which needed a signture at delivery.  This bothers me as I tried to call the number back and the number is not a working number...how can in the US this happen?

They called my cell phone.  I had just moved out of state 1000 miles to ditch a stalker.  I got the call verifying my address - which I did not give.  I asked who the package was from and what it was for and they hung up.  However, she had told me that they were on my porch trying to deliver - I was out of state picking my son up at the airport (stateline is near my house).  She asked what time I would be back home.  However, the package never came.  I received another call this morning from a blocked #.  The first was the 636-220-7376.  I asked the lady this morning what time it would be coming today and she stated that it was coming from Amhearst, NY and would be there in a few days.  Strange that last week they were on my porch and this week it's back in NY - 1000 miles away from where I moved and 180 from my previous residence.

I guess I should take comfort in the fact that I'm not alone.  Perhaps you all have stalkers too!  :)

This type of call is common for bill collectors it is called skip tracing and is not illegal, just annoying. Collection agencies as well as bank collections will call neighbors to get the information of people close to you acting like a friend or family member who lost touch. Keep a book near your phone to record these type of calls and make sure that you state to them not to call. The best way is to unlist you phone number but that is not always an option for some.

My neighbor recieved a call asking if my husband & I were his neighbors. The caller called us both by first & last names so my neighbor said he did know us. The caller stated they had a package to deliever & were just verifying the address and hung up. When he called back the recording said it was a non-working number. There has been no package delievered as of yet but has our neighborhood on high alert!! I have contacted my local police dept & they are doing an investigation on this matter. I hope that any of you who get this type of phone call will do the same. This needs to stop & the person(s) behind it need to be punished!!

Same sort of approach, they called the woman living in our old house, with a delivery to her brother's address, woman said deliver it, she'll sign for it, they said my wife had to sign, she asked for their number to give to me to work out details, and they hung up ... caller id was this number ...

THE CALLER ACTED AS A OVERNIGHT DELIVERY SERVICE, WANTING TO VERIFY MY ADDRESS FOR A PACKAGE BEING DELIVERED. I TOLD HER DELIVER THE PACKAGE TO WHATEVER ADRESS THEY HAVE. THE CALLER REPLIED THEY WILL DELIVER THE PACKAGE AN IF NO ONE IS HOME THEY WILL LEAVE THE PACKAGE. THERE WAS NEVER A PACKAGE DELIVERED TO MY HOME.....KIND OF CREEPY!!!!
