I am receiving calls from this number. Once the caller ID said it was from CITI. The second time they called the caller ID said it was an "Out of Area" Number. I don't know who it is.

I can feel with you, since April of this year I'm getting calls for a Michael Sabin, told them twice before that I don't know that person, but they keep calling back, today that same number called earlier and I call back again and told them to leave me alone and I was told my number will be taken from their call list and what happens I just got another call. I'll try to file a harassment complaint against them with the BBB, I hope it will help

No it's not. Per Citi, they do not ask for identifying information in calls they initiate. I called them after I received a call from this number today. Luckily, I hung up when they asked the last four digits of my social.

This number comes up as Citi on my caller ID and we do have our mortgage through them so at first I wasn't suspicious when the automated call asked if they had reached myself or my husband. However when they asked for the last four digits of my social to verify my identity, I just hung up the phone. I called Citi at their customer service number and sure enough their representative was VERY relieved that I did not give up my number. This is NOT Citi. He said they do not call customers for anything that would require account verification - they might make solicitation calls or late payment calls, but not anything requiring giving up your social security number.

When any caller you did not contact at a reliable, trusted number asks for personal information do not give it. Hang up and call back at a number you know is good. If they need that information, you'll be able to give it to them and know it's in the right place. If not, well, you've saved yourself a lot of headaches in the future.

Received call from 800-881-5099 that sounds like an alert system for emergencies. Message said This is Citi-mortgage with important information about my account and that I must call by the 19th. Called the number back and entered the code. Wanted last four of my SSN...so I hung up and came to my computer to see if anyone else had received a call from this number.

Payments have all been on time...not calling back again after reading all of the above.
Thanks everyone!

Called today.  Number is not in service.  Called the number to service my account later this afternoon only to find that they had made an error.  My monthly payment is made the same time every month, but this month they applied my payment to my principal  I was livid.

I got a call from 636-261-9117 and the caller ID showed Citi Mortgage. The first time I let the voicemail answer. The message was from a synthesized voice which mentioned my full name and said it was about my Mortgage account. They left a call back number 800-881-5099. Then about a couple of hours later they called again and I answered to a synthesized voice that asked me to verify my name by pressing 1. I did,  and then I was asked to enter my SS #. I hung up and called Citi mortgage to check/ report this event. They said there was nothing wrong with my account and I should ignore the call.

I called the 800 number and got to talk to a man calling himself Joseph from the Phillipines. He said he was a real Citi mortgage employee and his rep number is JM58467. I asked him under what circumstances Citi would call out for collections for which he wanted my account number before he would answer more questions so I declined and hung up.

Received calls from this mortgage company several times a day. They left a recorded message to call them on a toll free number. I don't have a mortgage and have never dealt with this company. I don't answer calls from unknown numbers. Irritating!!

I started getting call from 636-261-9117 recently. The only thing I could tell was that it was coming from Citimortgage. The call were coming almost daily and at random times. The problem I have is that the call would never complete as the automated system would hang up and then just call back. I got frustrated with the calls and found this site on my search for the number. Then I realized why they were calling. My mortgage payment was not applied correctly and it was showing that the monthly payment was not made. I have contacted them to have this corrected (via a phone number I obtained when I logged into their site). However, my gripe is that the automated dialer needs to be fixed. If there are not enough agents to take the calls then they need to scale back the number of people they dial. Also, they have my email address on file. Had they sent me an email the problem would have be cleared up rather quickly.

I think they need to fix the dialer. It seems to be broken to me. Also, email is probably a better reminder or first step.

'Dear customer,

Our *broken* systems show that your mortgage payment for last month has not been received. Please contact us at 1-XXX-XXX-XXXX or etc.'

Calling customers and asking them to enter their SS# for some random automated system is probably not the best way to resolve the issue.

This number has been calling me saying it's citimortgage - they said to call before March 25th regarding important information pertaining to our mortgage.  They gave me a reference code - I called and they asked for the last 4 digits of my soc. I hung up -

I double checked our bank account and our mortgage/escrow payment went through on time so what could this be about?  It freaks me out.

So how do I get these frauds to stop leaving me voice mail messages! Should I be worried about identity fraud since we notifed our mortgage company via internet of a change of address and phone number recently?

So eventually they will leave you alone, although its been nearly a week and these @$$holes still call four times a day (and on my husband's cell too) and leave voice mails.  The BEST thing to do is if you see the Caller ID and its them, immediately answer the call and immediately disconnect to the call. Hang up as soon as you pick it up.

As a Citimortgage customer, I called and asked them did they originate the call; they said yes.  The call is a advanced auto call reminding one to pay their monthly mortgage within the two week grace period. I think the calls are being used to nudge customers to pay a couple of days earlier.  Legitimate, but borderline nuisance, especially if you have been paying on time.
