Know how you feel!! Just got my 1st call from this # @ 7:41pm Wed. 8/15/12. I was outside so don't know how many rings there were, but ans mach is set on 5 & it didn't kick on, thank goodness. My CID said only "Renew" also along with the ph#. These calls just multiply like flies!! I DON'T answer ph unless I know the # calling & sure NOT getting a renewal to DAYTON Daily News (Ohio) as reason we cancelled subscription was DIS satisfaction with it anyway.

We're swamped with all sorts of UNWANTED calls (even MORE so) since DNC lists added cell phs last Nov before they also went public. Pay for Non-listed landline & everybody & their brother seems to have it anyway. This is a NO Win situation for us!

This number shows up on my caller ID at least once a day.  I do not answer and they do not leave a voice message.  From other comments, it sounds as though this is just another scam.

They are a "middle man" for newspaper subscriptions..  Apparently, if you subscribe through them, they get a cut...$$$

i keep getting phone calls from this number but do not wish to pick up, how did they get my number!!!??!

Received a call a couple of months ago offering the Sunday ads for The State magazine in Columbia, SC. They asked me to confirm my address and name. I did, but immediately felt weird about doing so. Now it has been a couple of months and no Sunday ads. I am beginning to woner if I helped give away my identity...

Did it work?

Three times in three days.  This number has come up no message and when I see the number I refuse to answer.  Since I am registered with Do Not Call I am also contacting them.

This # has been calling me on a daily basis, if I pick up there is no one on the line. My caller ID shows it has "renew".

this number keeps calling several times a fricken day! i answer an there is nothing let it go to the mach and it just hangs up as well.

Got a call from "Robert" from this number. He said he was from the Dayton Daily News. I said No you are not. Because my Caller ID says "St. Charles, Missouri".  He laughed and said he sells subscriptions for the Dayton (Ohio) Daily News.  I told him it did not sound legit and hung up.

Just make sure you call in from the number you want removed from their list.

Thanks so much for this info!  I too called back and got the recording about "discounted rates on my local newspaper" and indeed, Option 3 is for removing my number from the list.  After you choose Option 3, then it asks you to Press 1 if you want to remove the number you called in on and then to Press 1 if you are REALLY SURE you want to be removed (my laugh for the day).  It then says "you will be removed from our list in the next 48 hours".  We shall see.  : )

Says they are our local newspaper and want to deliver free coupons. Not a local number. Did not believe them, hung up and reported here

received twice again; will not answer unknown- especially out of state numbers.

Caller I.D. said Renew.  A Google showed that the number might be from Missouri.  Caller said he was from a local newspaper and planning to send coupons.

Received a call and decided to answer. Asked for someone who does not live here and then went on to tell me they were Sunday Shopper and just wanted to send my free coupons. Said no, kept asking for my name and address, I hung up. The "Do not call list" is really working great this past year. Get more calls then I ever did. Used to work. Caller ID did say Renew.

I recently subscribed to and subsequently cancelled the Sunday Oklahoman too and now I'm getting these calls. Sounds like that could be the cause of this.

yes renew is your local newspaper calling about subscriptions my thing is that I already subscribe so I don't know why they keep on calling they call my cell and house number all the time.

I spoke with them and they said they were offing subscriptions to my local newspaper even tho the number shows up form East Missouri and I live in South Kansas.  They asked me for my name and address.  I haven't checked with my newspaper to see if they have outsourced these calls to a company in Missouri, or if it is just an information gathering company who will sell yoru information to others.  Just told them no thank you and she got a little snippy with me and asked me why not?  First of all, you're callin me at 9:00 at night to offer me a newspaper subscripton!     I will be contacting my local newspaper to see if they outsource such calls from a Missouri company called RENEW.  Its just rude to call several times a day.  Desperate much?  at a NINE at night?  SHouldn't such calls be kept during normal business hours?   rrrrrrrrrr.

I started getting these after Thanksgiving 11. 2 times a day, random times, 3 rings then no message.

they just called..the name RENEW came up.rang 3 times and stopped........seems lately many different companies calling.what happened to the do not call list?  must be automated
