This weirded me out a bit. Got a call from 201-338-6162 at first, to reel me in a bit. Should've known something was up when he already knew where I lived. Said I had started to fill out but neglected to complete a survey about the iPad 5, and I stupidly gave him my card number and had "agreed" to $6.95 in shipping fees for a $500 grocery gift card as well as a membership to a website offering me large discounts on foods and stuff that I wasn't obligated to pay for until 30 days went by. Said his name was Sam, #1920. Got transferred to the Authorization Supervisor and had changed my mind within the time I was on hold, because I found this website after googling "Grocery Savings Company." Said to the AS that I wanted to decline the offer, he got very pushy. I finally said, No thanks, I'm not interested - Thanks for your time." and hung up. I got a call from the number this complaint thread is about in 10 minutes. Within that time I called my bank and cancelled my debit card. A pushy supervisor is on the other line, asking why I declined authorization, and feels the need to remind me he already has my card number. I tell him I'm no longer interested in the promotion and I get connected to the supervisor of the department. No idea what department it is. I told him I don't normally (meaning never) give out my card information over the phone. He asked point blank if I thought it was a scam. I said "Yes." He goes on to say there are indeed scams out there LIKE this, but his company is "Legit," (he pronounced it Ledge-It) and he ALSO reminded me if it was "actually a scam, I already have your card number and could do anything I want with it," but he won't because he doesn't want to risk his company and his job. If he's a scam artist, he wouldn't be worried about jeopardizing his job, because he makes money by scamming. If he was the head of a Ledge-It company, he and his associates would not have threatened me with the consequences of giving out my card number.

I dialed the Sportsman's Guide's phone number to place a merchandise order, and instead of that company, a gentleman with a foreign accent answered, saying he had a promotional offer for me because I was such a good customer.  Hesaid his name was Chris Tyler ID #115.  I refused the offer, but he was so persistant, that after about 10 minutes I ended up listening to his "speel".  As his pitch unfolded, his offer was:  A $100.00 gift certificate To Walmart or Target.  The only cost would be $5.90 for shipping.  Then I would receive an offer two savings program offers that I could cancel within or refuse 30days.  I can't believe I actually gave in and took their offer, and gave them my name, but refused to give my address.  He got off line and came back and gave ME my name and address and phone number.  I gave in after about 10 more minutes and gave him my debit card  # (like a dummy!)  to get him off the line and give me to a Sportsmans Guide rep.  Then he transfered me to an "Authorization Manager" to verfify my order give me a "legal authorization order number".  I finally told him I'd had it with that company and to cancel everything I'd given him, and the order.  I hung up, called Sportsmans Guide and the rep there knew nothing about the promotional company.  5 minutes later, my phone rang, and my Caller ID showed "Priceline Loc".  As soon as I answered, I told the person calling that I wasn't interested and hung up.  That was about 20 minutes ago, and they are calling every 5 minutes or so...  right up to now.  When I answer, there's a dial tone; so they apparently have an automatic dialer set up.  Thank you.
