Want to know who this number is for???

They call me many times a day. I have not business with the bank!

Yes. They call me as well.  When I answer, the caller does not say anything.  I picked up the phone did not speak and the caller said hello.... which at this time, I hung up.  This is Credit One calling and I have no business with them either.

I received this call twice today. When I asked who they were they said "The bank." When I asked them to specify which bank, they hung up. I'm guessing it's old fashioned phishing. If it is Credit One as others suggest -- and they just have very badly trained, and typically rude New York City staff -- I don't have an account with them.

i used to have a credit card with credit one bank. they are from las vegas,nv not in new your dont give them any info.

I called this number back, they are Credit One Bank collections

i would recommend doing what pam did, threatening with taking legal action.

Calls work and will not leave message - refuses to stop calling

getting at least one call a day asking for some person we've never heard of.  can't even understand the name they are asking for.  will ask them to spell the name next time and ask what it is about

they call 9-12 times in a row atleast twice a week and  never leave message.

This number has been calling my cellphone several times a day for the past few weeks.  They never leave a message.  When I answer, I have gotten either male or female voice (both with accents), asking for a person other than me.  I've told them to quit calling my number - explained they've called numerous times.  The last time, the man said "okay, but first I have some very important information for you".  I told him to quit calling, that I was going to report this number to my phone company.  They've called several times since then - and they call at all times of the day and night.

This number is from Credit One Bank. I'm sorry I ever opened an account with these people. I closed it three months ago. Adding them to my bankruptcy. They call all hours even on Sundays. This foreign man told me to listen to him, he said he didn't care if I was filing or not, I was going to pay him. I told him to listen, that if he kept harrasing me, I was turning him into the attorney general. I then hung up on him. So, far no call as of today. 2-18-2008

i believe it's some kind of foreign scam... there's more people talking about it on that thread.  What area codes are you guys in? and have you done business with Credit One Bank?

If you guys don't mind me asking, what are your guys' area codes? Also, do any of you actually do business with Credit One Bank?  This sounds like a scam where someone is trying to get your information by posing as a legitimate bank.  Or, perhaps some foreign number is trying to keep you on the phone for as long as possible so they can make a killing on long-distance charges. It's relatively easy to spoof someone else's number so a different number will show up on caller ID.

I have been getting numerous calls from people I don't know, saying that I just called them. I always politely tell the people that I didn't just call them and try to figure out why I'm getting called.  I always get a similar response... "I got a call from this number and someone was speaking chinese." or "mexican." It's quite frustrating and I'm considering changing my phone number because my phone number is such that when someone is trying to call 1-646-307-4306 it's easy to type in my phone number, even though I don't have a manhattan area code. (I'm not saying my real phone number on here by the way.) I'd like to get to the bottom of this as much as you guys so please keep me updated with whatever information you have.

calls my phone daily SEVERAL meaning anywhere from 5-12 times a day- within a few minutes a part on my cell phone without leaving messages

Calling asking for "Tracey" who does not and has never been at this number, we've had it for 7 years. Call at least once a day (5 days a week), and hang up often. We have asked to be removed from the list MULTIPLE times both to the person calling and when i call that number.

After many calls day and night I called my local phone company harassment bureau,they tell me this number is listed to Credit One Bank and if I have no business with them to call and ask them to stop the calls.

My mother got this call on her cell phone this morning.  I did a google search only to find this blog and was concerned about who might be calling her, but after checking it out (by simply calling the number), I found that it is from Credit One Bank.  Her credit card account was past due, she had forgotten to put it in the mail over the holidays.

i've been getting calls from this number for about 2-3 days now, and when i say 'hello', no one says a word...it's very frustrating and there ought to be a law against this sort of thing. who is it and how in the world did they get my number!!!

Keeps calling every day! Will not stop. Asked nicely to stop calling... keeps calling even more, like 5 or six times a day, even in the early morning hours!
