Getting voice mails from a Kathy Smith from Tacar(sp?) Group, to call them back at 866-301-3166, and that I should not disregard this message.  Have received from 3 different caller ids - 646-307-4309, 646-465-9403, and 646-341-9006.  I have not returned the calls.

They called. Caller Id Shows "New York City, NY" Kathy Smith from Takhar Group. She is definetely foreign and states "please do not disregard this call".

I keep getting these calls.  It is possible I owe someone money....but I work in collections...when we call we have to leave our names, the name of the person we are calling for, the number to call back and the name of the company..and that is how all of them should be,and if they're not, then they aren't getting a call back from me.  Too many scams out there...and not to mention not very professional...I have only had the number for a few months get calls for about 5 different people all the time, who knows who these companies may be trying to get a hold of.

I also recevied a call from this number on my cell phone today.  Same thing as others have reported a "Kathy Smith" with an important message and instructions not to disregard the message. Believe she said Takhar group but had a thick accent so it was not easy to discern.  Did not return the call.

I have received numerous calls and voice mail messages from 646-307-4309 over the past several months from a woman who calls herself "Kathy Smith" from Takhar Group--this sounds like an automated recorded call, and "Kathy" has a distinct Asian accent.  My name is not mentioned and the message is to call them back about an "important matter."  Clearly, they do not know who I am  and I have never answered their calls.

I finally got fed up with their daily calls and called the 866-301-3166 number. I told them to remove me from their list. They cooperatively agreed.

You guys should just ignore these people.  They're scammers in Canada.  They'll try to force you to pay for a debt that most likely doesn't exist.  Don't ever give any of your financial information over the phone with a stranger.

I get at least one call a day from this number, pre-recorded voice message from a "Kathy" of Takhar- with foreign accent. Message says that "we must discuss an important matter..." I dont have any clue as to who or what these people want.

They called my cell phone asking to speak with my mother about an important business matter! And how they got my number and my moms name I have no idea. I never give it out to anyone.

Caller repeatedly calls my cell phone which I have never put the number on any documents or given to anybody but my friends and relatives.  It sounds like phishing to me. I have never responded.  The voice sounds synthesized especially how the word discuss is pronounced.

I RECEIVED A CALL BUT THE PHONE NUMBER IS 772-924-3491 BUT THE SAME M.O BRAD WILLIAMS WITH A FU!!***ING INDIAN ACCENT CALLING FROM A COLLECTION AGENCY CALLED USC.HE HAS EVEN BEEN CALLING MY WORK  NUMBER AND HARRASSING THE SECRETARIES FOR INFO.

I Got a Call today from this company also. they wanted my roommate who was was walking outside leaving for work.  When I said it was Sean from techar agency he said to ask them what they want because he had no clue to who they are. When I told the gentleman that My Roommate needs to know what it is about. The guy started yelling at me saying it is a personal matter.
I told my roommate this and he said tell them to tell you whatever it is I got to go I am late already.
So when I told the guy this he starts yelling at me telling me to put my roommate on the phone. and didn't care that he wasn't even here.
So I said he left goodbye and hung up.
He called back yelling at me telling me I have no right to hang up on him and that I need to put my roommate on the phone. I told him I have every right in the world since it was my phone he was calling and that if he keeps calling I will sue them for harasment.  so I hung up and they have called back 5 times since then Yelling telling me to put my roommate on the phone not caring that he wasn't here.

I have been receiving the same calls from this company.  They say I owe $100+ dollars on a Columbia house account that is over 4 years old.  I told them today that they do not show up on this years or last years credit reports as a company I have an account outstanding with.  The guy Brad Williams (indian accent) got pissy and kep say uh-huh over and over.  I told them I am not paying a dime and to send me everything in writing concerning this amount owed.  They wont do it.  So I hung up on them.

THIS MAN CALLED ME TODAY TELLING ME I OWE FOR 2 DVDS AND I NEED TO SENT HIM 90$ FOR THE MOVIES AND BREACH OF CONTRACT I TOLD HIM I NEVER KEPT THE MOVIES AND I WOULD NOT PAY FOR SOMETHING I NEVER RECEIVED!! $50 FOR BREAKING MY CONTRACT THEY ARE NUTS!!!!

If you are on the DO NOT CALL LIST you can file a complaint from there website. I just did that. I don't know how much good it will do though, but worth a try.

I received a call from a gentleman named Roger from Tahkar Collection's, a collection agency that is affiliated with Columbia House/BMG. He was difficult to understand since he had a foreign accent. Not certain but again possibly another American Company that has outsourced to India. I was told we owed for 2 DVD's that we never ordered or received. He insisted I pay the bill anyway and was rather adamant about me paying to say the least. I advised him I disputed the charges and instructed him to contact his client and forward me a copy of the contract and statement he eluded to. He refused this and made the standard threats associated with collection bullies. I told him I would contact Columbia House and ended our conversation. I called the number for Columbia House 646-307-4309, Here I reached Alejandra, yet another outsourcing company employee. Although she was polite, she was limited in knowing how to handle this matter and not too concerned in providing resolution. She gave me a phone number to reach Columbia House (in "America") 212-901-0700. I called and who'd of guessed, they were closed, it must be nice to go home at 4:30pm est, but then again, India has a handle on business for them! I have stopped doing business, and have closed several accounts that have resorted to outsourcing and don't care if this means finding other means. Consumer's deserve better customer service and should boycott these type of companies that lack our best interest over profitability. Good Luck!

This number (646)-307-4309  called my house.  I just had the phone turned on 3 days ago so i know that the only people to have the number are family. I called the number and was greeted by a recorded message (female voice with asian accent and bad pronunciation)  asking me to wait on the line.  about 5 seconds later a male with an asian accent picked up and stated the company was Takhar and wanted my name.  i didn't say my name but ask what type of company it was. He told me it was a financial organization but would not be specific.  He then became rude and started screaming at me and told me to give him my name. At this time I told him i would not give him my name unless he told me what kind of financial organization it was.  After this he started yelling words i don't even know and hung up on me.  I do believe this to be a scam especially after reading and searching the company on the net.  There is no sense in telling them to take you off a call list it wont happen. Do not give this company any of your information.

I have been receiving calls from Takhar multiple times a day, every day for 6 days now. I called them to be put on their DNC list. They claimed I was already removed (strange since it was the first time I called) I have called every day for 4 days and each time they claim I am already off their list. However, they keep calling. I know it is illegal to continue to call once asked to stop (link below) but how do I go about reporting that they have not stopped?

This flipping auto dialer is driving me nuts.  I have received several calls per day for about 3 weeks now.  The message is always the same recording of a woman who identifies herself as Kathie Smith from Takhar Group.  She has a very strong accent so I strongly doubt that is her real name.  She states that she has an important matter to discuss with me and to please not disregard the call.  She never says my name.  My number is never used except for family, friends, and co-workers.  It is not published.  I don't understand how it is that I can block undesirable numbers from my land line but not my mobile.  Be that as it may, I'm adding my complaint in the hopes that enough reports will generate some action against these people.

For weeks I've been getting calls from this number, at all times of the day. I've answered a few times just to find out who is harassing me, and there is no one there, yet the calls persist.  The caller ID just says New York.  Its only 11 AM here and I've already received 3 calls from them today alone.

I have been called no less than 10 times by this number in the last two weeks.  They did not leave a VM.  The phone calls were made from an automated system.

I called them yesterday, and asked they remove my number from their records.

I had to give them my number. They asked my name and I asked who they thought I was based on the number in their records. I informed them I was not the person they showed in their records associated with the number

I've received two calls since, and just called them again asking them to remove my information.

The company is called Takhar and he explained it was a financial services company.  I asked him if it was a collections company, and he avoided answering my question, twice.
