Just got a call from a Officer Jordan Campbell from the financial crime office, saying I owed for a pay day loan I cancelled last year. This Jordan got very upset due to my asking questions:

He told me the same thing as to Brbs. I started to take out a Pay Day loan back in Sept. 2012. I cancelled the process and was told there was a fee for canceling,which was due ASAP. A call came back to me around Dec.2012 threatening me with legal action. I did call my lawyer and he called  bull**** to this call and to refer the next to him. Now after 5 months, I get another call,so while the guy was on the phone, I put the phone # into the computer and this site came . I read him what was said and he hung on me. I called back and asked what the company name was,guest who? Hopkins Law Frim.

I too got a call from a mr anderson from hopkins law firm and that I would be sorry if I did not return his phone call that legal action would be unfolding against me.  It is a scam as I owe no pay day loan late.

I have actually fell for this scam and now I am broke. God knows these people and will punish them. I was so stupid to have fallen for this SCAM! Thanks for all the post and I will never fall for these people again.

These people are scammers they call and tell you that you owe money for payday loans--all they want is your money tell them you called the FBI and say do not call this phone or anyone affiliated with my name and hang up!!! The # was 646-340-8249 and the other # they use is 916-629-4661 they will tell you to put $$$ on a card and then call them back with a code and if you don't do that the local Police Office will come and arrest you the next day--SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a call from Mr. Anderson and as soon as I told him I knew he was a scam and that i did not owe anybody he immediately hung up on me. Is there any way to stop these jerks from calling my phone?

I am getting calls from this number and have been getting them for over two months. He states his name is Mr. Anderson from Hopkins Law offices.....he is a scammer.....Jim and his Indian accent.....which is horrible because I have friends that are Indian and it gives them a bad name....

Some man called stating his name is Mr. Anderson and he is from Hopkins Law Firm/he stated that I stole some money, which is impossible.  When I requested his supervisor b/c he wouldn't give specific information, hung up on me.  When I called back I went straight to voicemail as if it was a cell phone.  I finally got throught and requested his supervisor, he stated he was the supervisor.  He then told me that he would give further information to my attorney.  I then asked why was he not trying to give information to try to resolve issue and then he hung up on me after he answering "No" to giving detailed information regarding who is was representing.

I just got the same call. I have been harrassed by by these guys calling about payday loans. My are paid off. I keep telling them that they have no idea what the American laws are and that they are breaking every single one of them. I let them know I have reported them to the authorities. It was to funny becuase teh cop I spoke with called him while I was sitting there, the idiot didn't belive he was a real cop. Bad move. They are trying to crack down on them.

I have had my number for years and never got calls like this and all pay day loan scams for over a month . They don't use my name they are always asking for a Luaton Wells and always US numbers with a Indian caller . But this one is the worst by far they are scaring people to paying money they don't owe . It's Sick so I hope Karma is a sick bi*** and you tell them they are going to talk to your lawyer who is going to file with the FBI , FTC , and to FU

These scammers call and harass you about owing money i don't owe them a thing, if you do get a call don't give them any information bill collectors don't talk to you crazy like these folks if you owe a bill send it in the mail of course they won't do that they threaten you with a law suit. I have an attorney they can speak with them and the FBI. Those foreigners are something.

My work received a call from this number asking for me.  When asked who I need to call back, the person said that his name was Justin Carter.  My co-worker was leary of the call because the subject haad a thick middle eastern accent.  I called the number back and when I asked for Justin Carter, I was told the person  that answered the phone was his supervisor and I was not allowed to speak to Justin.  I asked the caller what this is about and he stated that he was from the Hopkins Law Firm and I owed on a payday loan that I never got.  I asked him where he was from and he said that he was from New York City.  Later on in the conversation I asked him again where he was from and he told me New York City but that he worked for Hopkins Law Firm out of Little Rock, AR.  He then threatened to arrest me and he was sending papers to my work, SS office, home and references.  I then asked why I could not speak to Justin again and all "he said was get an attorney and hung up on me"  I looked up Hopkins Law Firm in Little Rock, AR and found one. I called Hopkins and asked them if they were affiliated with person in which they responded "NO"

this a hole keeps calling my cell phone and work saying I am being sued for unpaid payday loan I haven't had any of those in over 2 years and the a hole is going to get me fired cause he keeps calling work they are a scam and don't give up I have not returned any calls but he was very rude to my co workers and refused to stop calling till he talked to me  my bosses already said if it keeps up they will fire cause he keeps repeatedly calling and tying up the phone!!!!

i received a message from my boss stating: Mr. Andersen called from (646) 340-8249 advising it was an urgent phone call.
I called back the number but was questionable about the number provided.
The male who answered said "hello" I told him I was returning a phone call. I gave him only my first name he already knew who I was and why I was calling and idenified him self as working for a law firm. gave a case number and said that it was a financial legal issue due to me not paying off a payday cash loan.
The email address he said was mines - is no longer mines and hasnt been for 2 years and all my loans have been cleared. He said he was going to contact my local social security office to block all funds that I was currently recieving including any goverment assistance. I told him he was calling my employment and and if he could fax me some type of information. Which he said he could mail to me. I asked for the mailing address and that too was incorrect for more then 3 years ago.
I asked again to have something fax to me so I can reference his call he hung up.

received a call from "Karen Spencer" sounded like a man to me, that there was a case filed against my ss# and he would transfer me to one of the attorney' s in his office to explain the situation.  I told him that I would be happy to talk to Mr. Michael Ross(Roth-not sure as I couldn't understand him.  I did ask "Karen" where he was located and he told me ACS (Associated Courthouse Servers???) in the Bronx, NY.  I asked him if they weren't affected by the hurricane and he said no.  I was then transferred to Mr. Ross(?) who read me a lot of legal mumbo jumbo and that he would be contacting my employer, but I could take care of it and protect my ss#.  I told him that it wouldn't do any good to contact my employer as I was laid off last week.  I also told him that I had an appointment with my attorney tomorrow and would be happy to pass the information along, and have my attorney call him.  
I have received several of these types of calls over the last few months, and at first got upset, now I just let them know that I have an attorney who I will have contact them, and that I would be forwarding their telephone number, names and business name to the ftc and fbi for investigation.  They usually don't call back after that.  I have, in the past had them call my employer and also call a co-worker who was very upset by the whole situation.

Please don't ever respond to these people. I have sent 2 complaints to the Attorney Generals Office. They are almost impossible to trace and all they need is just one person to have a panic attack and respond to them with money! They are nothing but thieves.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
