These marketers keep calling me to my cell phone number

Just got a call from this # but didn't answer b/c I didn't recognize it.  When to look up the area code online and found this...weird.

This number called me on my cell while I was at work and left the oddest message!! I want to know how they got my number! Its a NYC number and im in VA!!

With Voice Over Internet connections, you can set up a number in any area code you like; hook up an autodialer and then just sit back and wait for some one to fall into your trap. Cost are cheap and the technology is avalable everywere. You can shut your operation down and restart with a new number in less then an hour. It can take months for the federal government to get enough complaints and then investigate. And then take even more months to get anyone, if they are lucky, into court. Then...ther is no chance of getting any money from these people.

The best thing you can do is DO NOT ANSWER the phone before looking at the number and DON'T ANSWER if you don't know who is calling. That is why we all have FREE voice mail on our phones. We all have been trained so well to answer the phone when it rings. This is what these people are counting on. Retrain yourself to look at the phone first.

This phone number has shown up in the caller ID missed calls on my cell phone.  I have listed my cell phone number on the "Do Not Call List".

Another 757 area code here.  (Verizon Wireless line)  I was teaching a class and did not answer.  No voice mail was left.

Received a call on my cell phone from this number.  Fortunately I did not hear my phone ring and I missed the call.  When I tried to call back on a land line, I kept getting a busy signal.  If I remember correctly, they've called before.

I dunno why, but this seems to target 804 area code heavily. Called my Alltel cell phone.

I have been receving calls from this number for a while.  It is illegal to solicit cell phones.  If someone can figure out what company it is, please post so I may file a complaint.

This number call my cell as well offering a free trip to Cancun.  Does this company know they can be sued for telemarketing to cell phones?  Virginia Verizon customer.
