Same exact BS scam. I posted a guitar on Craig's List in Utah and got the same text message from someone in New York (646-389-3703), about a girl wanting it for her dad. Even when I put in the ad, NO TXT MSGS, NO EMAILS, calls ONLY, I still get nothing but scammers responding to my ads. I DO NOT respond to anything, unless it's from a LOCAL person who wants to pay cash! The sad thing is that these dirt bag con artists must be making money off a ton of poor smucks, or they wouldn't keep doing this.

I had the same experience.  I received a txt from 646-389-3703 stating that they wanted to buy my guitar as seen on CL (Craigslist). He wanted my name and address so that he could send me a money order to cash at my bank for an amount greater than the price of the guitar, and then I was to give the rest to the shipper. The shipper name he gave was "Reliable express delivery." Yeah, right.

Just got the same thing. I will definately check #'s before giving address again. Didnt think to check that until afterwards. Mine was all through text! Scum of the earth!!!

WARNING: 646-389-3703 IS A MONEY ORDER SCAM!!! I received a txt from 646-389-3703 stating that they wanted to buy my guitar as seen on CL (Craigslist). He wanted my name and address so that he could send me a money order to cash at my bank for an amount greater than the [not yet established] price of the "guitar". Aware that this was a scam (as I don't HAVE a guitar listed for sale), I played along--never giving out ANY information--only asking him to clarify what we wanted me to do, etc. The more questions I asked, the more impatient he became until he finally sent the message, "I WILL KILL YOU." (I think maybe I pissed him off.) So, I called my provider and asked them to block the number. Game over.

SAME THING JUST HAPPENED TO ME JUST NOW REPLIED WITH WILL ACCEPT PAYPAL OR CASH ONLY! I JUST LOOKED UP NUMBER TO SEE WHERE HE WAS FROM AND THIS PAGE CAME UP! WOW! GLAD I DID!

They want to purchase my keyboard.  Same money order scam.

Same scam..just texted me and offered money order for my guitar..sending extra money for his shipper..just texted him back and said NO DEAL.GO TO HELL

Got 14 text from this number, at the end said his name was Dave said he would send money order including shipping also. I blocked his number from my phone and asked him to email me, haven't heard a thing from him since.

Same as everyone. Guitar on cl. But threw me off because text content was generic and my ad did not mention some things he did.

I just recieved an offer from this guy too for my guitar I posted on craigslist.  Wanted to mail me a money order, then have me cash it and remove my payment from it and give the rest to his "Shipper".

I immediately suspected money order fraud so ruled out that form of payment, informed him I would be willing to take cash in person, paypal (would ship guitar ONLY AFTER payment was confirmed), or credit card (in person WITH ID).

No response from his/her after that.  Googled the number and it shows as a New York number.  Wonder how a guy from New York found my listing when I am clear across the country??  hmmm.....

Craigslist scammer.  When called out on it, he was very angry and rude.  Do not do business with anyone from this number.
