this guy responded to my motorcycle for sale. i'm kind of pissed i didn't check the area code here first before texting him back. these people will go to the ends of the earth for a scam.

I also just got a text from 646 389-6723 at 1:00 in the morning about an ad in craigslist. I suspected SCAM and googled this number. Sure enough. I texted back SCAMMER GO HOME!

Just got an email from 646-389-6723 requesting that I text this person regarding an ad I placed on Craig's List for a card catalog filing cabinet. Thanks to everyone who have started this blog it has saved me the time to respond to this scam artist.

Hello everyone. He has now posted a new ad in Craigslist claiming that he has a house in San Diego and is willing to rent it for $900 with $1000 deposit ! He claimed that he has moved to Wisconsin with his wife on a church missionary program and he want someone to just take care of the house. He asked the deposit for someone so he ship the key.
Bottom line is this the renter in San Diego be aware of Mr. Edward S. Harris (as he introduced himself). His email address is eharris457@yahoo.com

Just joining the conversation that the same thing happened to me (selling my iPhone). My text also came at 1 am and they offered an extra $100 for shipping. Offered to pay via PayPal, when I said I didn't have PayPal, tried to convince me to use it. Contact via text.

Happened to me too... said he wanted to buy my item from craigslist for his partner but could not pick it up because he is out of state, but he would pay me an extra $100 for shipping. "burberrystores@gmail.com".
BUT... he said he would send a PayPal payment and requested that I make a PayPal funds request to him at his email address, along with "pics of the item". I'm playing this out to see where it leads...

I got a text from this person claiming they wanted to buy my android incredible that I had posted on my local craigslist, he claimed that he needed the phone for his wife who is on a church missionary and that he wanted me to ship the phone to new York because he was there on business. He has SCAMwritten all over him!
