Called my office, asked for someone who does not work here. I said sorry, and then I hung up.

call from number, did not answer call, caller left no message

the caller stated my name and immediately hung up

Similar harassment-varying stories given up the chain until I was transferred the call, asking for a person with my first initial and last name.  Once confirmed I was on the line, he hung up.  Very concerned it is some identity theft scam.

This number calls frequently asking for a different person each time they call.  Always in broken English with a very thick accent.  I let him know that the person he is asking for; "Scott Thompson" is not an employee of our company.  He asked if I was the "operator" for the company (he tried to pronounce the co. name and butchered it, so I made sure to correct him)  I told him I was the "operator" and again, there was no one in the company by that name.  He asked me to look in our directory and point him in the direction of "Scott Thompson".  Finally explained to him a final time that "Scott Thompson" is not an employee here.  Also reminded him of his calls to our company last week looking for "David Griffin" that is also not an employee here.  He never indicated who/what company he was with OR why he was calling.

Received two calls today asking for same person.  First time said they were UPS.  Second time did not identify themselves.  Both times they requested we look in our "global directory" when we told them we weren't familiar with that name.

Some mumble mouth called asking for the owner.  Wanted his voice mail and hung up when I said we don't have voice mail.  Probably a hack trying to sell something.  I called the phone number back and it's a Magic Jack phone number!  

i got a call from this number 646 434 5429 at work.He asked if i was Mr. XXXX, i said yes and he hung up immediately.

Well, the great thing about Caller ID is that I simply disconnect the phone immediately after picking up the call when I see their number pop up (our phone system works off our mouse and computer). Slam the phone down in my ear and I'm not even going to answer the phone. Hahaha.

Male with accent called and asked for former IT manager (mangled his last name). Did not ID himself or company.  I said that person he was calling for is now available through email contact only (works remotely out of state).  Caller said: "OK" and hung up! LoL. Caller ID shows only New York, NY.

This number calls but does not want to give any information about who they are. It is very suspicious when you can hardly understand the person calling. When asked information they hang up.

UPDATE:  This man has now called more than eight times today (using both numbers), alleging to also be from UPS to deliver a package, Bank of America, and "the Revenue Department" concerning an individual's unpaid tax bills.  I told him that our company doesn't accept debt collection calls and to either try the person at home or send them a letter.  Additionally, he slammed down the receiver on my back-up when she asked for more specifics about the alleged deliveries.

Man with accent from call center originally phoned from 347-949-4576.  Research led to the website for a company named EMC, which is a known pest around here.  He claimed to be returning the call of a manager who is not at this location.  I said if an inquiry had been made, the manager would have provided his direct line and transferred this guy to Purchasing.  In a few seconds, 646-434-5429 appeared on Caller ID.  Mr. Accent complained about my sending him elsewhere and denied that he was soliciting, but I switched him over again.  He tried two more times with the same result, then gave up.

Called twice in a row asking for "Jeffrey Katz" (but pronounced it "kurtz" 1st time i replied "we have no one here by that name" and he said "thanks" and hung up and called back right away and asked for the same person, and i replied "you just called and asked for this person and I told you we don't have anyone here by that name" and he says "you don't have anyone by that name in your entire company? (We have 3 Jeff's- but no one close to that last name) so I said - "NO- we don't"

Seems to be possibly some sort of identity theft scam. Caller from this number fishes for identity information. Likely looking to con elderly folks out of their money.

I've gotten multiple calls today from non-English speakers knowing my name, and saying company names sometimes unintelligible. Whenever I ask for any more info they hang up. They're using different numbers -- I've gotten about 5 calls today, a couple from No Caller ID.

They stated it was EMC corporation.  They are verifying peoples information to build a database to sell.  They call businesses and homes.  They are scammers.

Same exact thing happened to me.

they called asking for my old name  I asked them what they wanted with this person and they said they had to talk to the person in which they were calling I said my first name and then they hung up  p.s. they did not even pernounce my first and my old last name correctly HUGH SCAM

Keep calling place of employment, then hang up!

This number asked for an employee at another office. I said tried to give them the phone number. They wouldn't listen, so I hung up. They called back 6 times in 10 mins. I finally picked up the phone and said STOP CALLING. They left voicemail saying NOTHING.

Calls and knows my name but immediately is disconnected. No longer answering calls.

called for someone that does not work in my office. asked for the global directory and when i said i had no such thing abruptly hung up. the heck ?

CALLED ABOUT RECEVING A UPS PACKAGE FOR ME.....GOT CUT OFF THEN CALLED AGAIN A COUPLE OF TIMES WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING.

Called twice.  Said they were FedEx and had a package for me.  I said, "then deliver it!"  He attempted some questions in broken english before I hung up.  Obviously NOT calling from FedEx.

These people have called me twice reguarding to Law Suit against my brother.I have given my brother the info and he has returned their call.These people had all his information in their data wrong. I just received another call from this same number and they tried to tell me I was responsible to give them the right social sercuirty number.I told them that I was not giving out this number because I did not have the right to do so.Then they told me that I could be held responsible to pay for his debt being that I was his brother.This is a scam people and they should be stopped.If you get anymore calls from these people you need to contact the police and turn them in.
