Me too. Except she contacted me through Ashley Madison using a Los Angeles number. The story, however, was the same. After I read this site I stopped conversing with her until she texted me today. She was supposed to be back in L.A.by today. When she said she was still in Gloversville, I asked why she hadn't come back. She mentioned there was an issue with her mom's medication and that she needed help. $950!

I refused, and said I knew what she was up to. Then came the abusive messages. Hopefully she goes away.

I have been communicating with her as well.  The story is exactly the same.  I have found that thee is only one person in the US named Wendy Marlitt. She lives in Gloversville, but she is 49, not 31 as this girl claims.

Wendy Marlitt said she was taking care of her sick mother who had been in a car accident and her father was dead so she was having a difficult time coming up money to pay for a nanny and medications. She needed $500. We met through a dating site.
She said I should send the money through Moneygram to her in Gloversville, NY, which is near Albany in upstate New York state. When I refused she started sending me abusive text messages.
