I have a spa and received a message from Mr. Jason Dieckmann. He wanted to book an event for 10 people. Typed in broken english and didn't respond to many of the details I asked for. I decided to google him and came across this post. I'm reporting this to the local police.

Same exact story here! 350 cupcakes for uncle's wedding Oct 25 to be picked up by a courier to transport to Colorado! Come on.... Seriously? Overcharge the card to pay the driver.. He's deaf and in a hospital for surgery, only way to communicate is through text.. blah blah.. what a bunch of scumbags... Really irritated me, even after I stopped answering texts, he kept trying for about a week... Has anyone checked to see if anything can be done or is it too minor?

so my story is the same but somewhat different. i got the same email from a woman named Mary Riedel (riedelmary923@yahoo.com), and she asked me for 350 cupcakes for her uncle's wedding also. but when i responded back, she never replied. a week later, i got the same exact email from this Jason Dieckmann guy. I asked if he knew Mary because the emails were exactly identical. he said he didnt know who Mary was. I went along with his story, up until he asked me for the same favor he seems to be asking all of you about the western union money transfer. he gave me the deaf hospital story, and the carrier pick up story as well. his due date for the cupcakes were the same as the other persons (oct. 11). it sounded fishy, so i googled his name and number and this is what came up. im currently in transaction with him, but after reading this, its all just been a scam. i havent told him that i wouldnt do the order yet. its really sad how low some people will go for a quick buck. i really want to catch this guy before anyone else gets hurt. im a really hard worker when it comes to my business. i hate the fact that there's someone out there doing this to innocent people like us. help me catch this guy! what should i do?

I got a txt message from this guy and spent 2 days trying to hammer out a deal.  Then it all fell apart when he asked me to do him a favor.  His message was the same as the others here but he asked me to wire money to Western Union.  At that point I txted back and said "Oh I see what you are doing.  No I can't do that and I can't take your order.  I've been wondering if I should report this.  I'm just glad that we are all smart enough not to fall prey to this.  Someone else might not.

We just received an e-mail from this same person.  He is looking for cupcakes for his uncles wedding.
My partner had a bad feeling about the story.  Same story about being hearing impaired and saying he couldn't talk on the phone.   I asked him to call using a relay and he said he didn't have that available.  He sent me a text saying that's the only way he could communicate.  In his original e-mail, he said he was looking for 350 cupcakes for September 29th, but when he sent me a text with the date, he said October 11 th.  that's when I figured out it's a total scam.

I text him back saying we were booked for that day and we couldn't fill his order.  I asked him earlier in the text how he had heard of us and he told me through Facebook.

Be very careful!  This is a total scam!!!!

Its not, I just got the same text from him.
I want to get them caught since we are in mid transaction right now.  I wonder if the cops can trace their number.

This person went by the name of Jason or Mr. Jason and claimed to be hearing impaired and  could only text. He wanted to order a product from me, then after we agreed on the product he decided to ask for a favor. If I would over charge his credit card an extra $980.00 then send a money transfer to another company for the pick-up of the product! When I asked to speak to the other company it was just a guy and his friends picking up the product not a REAL company! Very Fishy and shady!! We did NOT do Business with them!

The other guys name was Thomas James! Please be aware of shady characters!!
