Same here.., they have not asked for money to western union yet but this string helped.  I just sent hiim a note stating that I will pay no fees to western union and I will send him my pick up address after he transfers $2,000.00 into pay pal as a down payment.  The guys name is Brian Snapp.., nice.  Said he was buying the bike as a gift for his son.  They really need to hire an english speaking person to type their e-mails..., grammer is the first givaway.

The text wording I got ....was word for word the same as jessicas.

wanted to buy my motor cycle. asked me to send it on a transport. and would pay me via pay pal what a joke this person is stupid to think I would not check out the number. What a scam hope they are caught and hung out to dry. seller beware!

They contacted me using both numbers that are appearing on this site... They wanted me to set up a pay pal account. to purchase my Truck.
Thank goodness I said something to my girlfriend first...   She said check the internet and see if there is any type of scam going on like this.... Glad I listened to her...

BTW, Happy: Money orders and cashiers checks are fairly easy to counterfeit. Just a head's up.

I put my motorcycle on craigslist and the next day that number wanted to buy it for his son.  he wanted me to get a pay pal account, I told him I would only accept cash or a cashiers check.  He said pay pal was secure and safe.  He never saw the bike and didn't ask much about it.  Sounded real fishy to me, so like a lot of you I googled the number and it is a scam as I am reading all the comments.  If it sounds too good to be true it is lol.

Wanted to purchase a motorcycle sight unseen, didn't even ask the pertinent questions... Total Crook, wanted my paypal info.. told them to get lost (lets say)... don't even respond to these criminals!

no they have not caught these people because they just scammed me yesterday.

unfortunately, I fell for the scam. same number contacted me. im new to craigslist, and have never heard of the money wire scam. all I can do now is spread the word to help others not fall for the same scam.

this same number text me today asking to buy our car.  Exact same story and then "my apologies," I need to use Western Union, and they charge $900, so he offered to pay extra to cover the fees.  A for sure scam. Stay away from this number.  He should be in jail.  Thanks for this website so we can check it out.

So I googled the number and got this page.

Let me know asap so I can arrange the", but it's from a Oregon number 832-554-6813.. I responded they could call me to discuss the sale. Gave me the same response as Lilly, that he is deaf. I told him to use TTD or have someone call for him to arrange transaction, but have heard nothing since.

This is a scam. I put a motorcycle for sale on Craig's list and got the same response as everyone else. Do not sell to this person!!

 Placed add on Craigslist to sell my Swamp Buggy (for sale) with price and pic.  Pretty simple, it is for sale, has price and you can view the picture. After add being placed had a text from 832-554-6813 "Please is this up for sale? Chevy Deck Buggy"  (well of course that is why it is on Craigslist for sale) "If yes kindly get back to me with your last asking price and present condition".  (Well if you read the add there was a price and a pic you would have seen the condition)  The area code (not in Florida) and the wording of the responce to my add totally gave this away as a scam.  Found this site while looking up the area code (Texas) and decided to put my two cents in

I put a car up for sale on Craigslist in Illinois.  This person contacted me via text to inquire what my final asking price is.  I returned a text to ask what was his offer.  He then contacted me via text again 4 hours later to say exactly this.... "Due to the nature of my job, I will not be able to come for inspection as am a very busy type as I work mainly offshore for long hours everyday I have a private courier agent that will come for the pick up after the payment have been made.  My private courier agent will come for the pick up and sign all necessary documnets on my behalf after the payment have been made."

Due to the wording in this text and the time I received it at night, I decided to search the phone number this morning.  I am so glad I did.  It says this is a landline in New York and it has also been reported by other people how they have been scammed via craigslist by this person.  I just want to thank everyone who has posted about this phone number.  You all saved me a lot of trouble.  I am returning the favor by posting this experience I had.

Well Thank you everyone.....not toooooooooooooo many people offer to buy a car without checking it out in person............................I just hate that there are idiots out here taking advantage of people like this....but I can sleep well tonight knowing that the "GOOD PEOPLE" are ahead by +1........Ya!!!!!

I just got the same response from this guy. Said he was buying for his cousin and that a third party would be picking up and delivering it to them. I am selling a greenhouse. He wanted to make sure that it was in good condition and what the price was even after the post said the condition and price. A typical person does not buy a greenhouse sight unseen. I sent a txt back saying that cash was all I wold deal with when he replied that the third party does not deal in cash. Thats when I told him I would deliver and get cash upon arrival. Never heard back from him. I figured it was a SCAM.... JACK
