Problem is, they are not operating inside the US, even though the call you get comes from a domestic number.  There is little the authorities can do to help you.  Best thing is to change your number, or block every verion of the numbers they use to call you, but rest assured, they will change their number.  If you want to have fun, just calmly tell them what scum they are and that you know they are crooks.  They will go nuts.  Fact is, you can't be arrested or have criminal charges filed against you for consumer debt in the US.  This, and the complete refusal to provide you with documentation of the debt in question, your right under the consumer debt laws, is the dead giveaway that they are scammers.

They are exactly meant to scare you.  Don't give them any information and whatever you do, don't give them one dime.  This is a scam.

I received a call on my cell this afternoon.  The number shown was 416-364-1112 but since I didn't recognize the number I let it go to voice mail.  I checked it later to hear a message that I could BARELY understand and hear.  It was a lady with  a STRONG accent telling me to have my attorney or me call back. It was imporatant and if they didn't hear from me or my attorney then Good Luck to me.  The number she left was 646-560-3624.

Minutes after that call was placed to my cell, there was a call to my work.  My manager transfered the call to me.  The lady on the other end told me that something was happening tomorrow morning at 11am.  I asked her what she was talking about and I had NO clue what she meant, she then put me on hold, a man got on the line this time.  I told him I was at work, if he could give me a number I'd call him back later.  He asked when I was going to call, I told him I wasn't sure.  OOOH NO...he got pissed.  He wanted to call me back.  UM....NO I'm at work. Please don't call here.  When I tried to ask what this was about he started talking at the same time.  Everytime I stopped, he stopped.  Everytime I started, he started.  He wouldn't tell me what this was about.  So I hung up.  He called back and my manager told him she'd take a message and give it to me.  He said he was Jake Smith for the Dept of Corporate Affairs.  His number was 646-543-9197.

TOTAL SCAM.  If you can't tell me why you are calling, DON'T call me.

I have been receiving these calls for months at both home and work.  Last week I got a call from "Harry Jones" at work.  My attorney happened to be in my office, and I gave the phone to her.  She identified herself and Mr. Jones said he needed to transfer the call to his supervisor.  After several minutes a woman gets on the phone and says her name is "Nicole Allen."  My attorney demanded they produce documentation proving that I owed money.  Ms. Allen took my fax number and said I would have the paperwork in a half hour.  When my attorney tried to question her further, she hung up.  They never faxed any paperwork.  Today I received a message from "Allen Smith" of DCA Law Office.  It's amazing that they never give up!

I received several calls from this number which is some law office of someone named Chris Lee. I called them back and they asked for the last 4 digits of my SS number, which I would not give. I then asked that they send me some form of paper work about what this was about. They said that I would receive it  tomorrow. If I receive any paperwork I will let you know. I am really tired of these calls.

Receiving same calls, same accented person on the messages but always has a different name. Tells me legal matter and best of luck. If i am in trouble with the law then paperwork should be coming in the mail. If its so urgent that i call them back why don't they take action? because i haven't called them back.

Received call stating I was being sued and arrested for delinquent payday loan online. When asked about the specific payday loan company; several were named. But I never had any dealings with these companies and stated as much. The man continuede to say I was having charges brought against me for not paying, Had my banking information and the references names. And stated they were being taken to court also. I believe these are scare tactics, And that this is not legitamate.

Phoned my work number and cell number with an accent stating that it was a legal matter.  Throwing so much money at me that it was unbelievable stating that I owe them! I don't owe them at all don't even know who they are!!!

They have been calling me since Thursday. It is a huge scam. Don't call back. Contact the attorney general with their information. The calls are always the same. They have heavy middle eastern accents, and they can't even relay a message correctly. They always say "Good luck." They have bits and pieces of our personal info. Sometimes they don't have your address. They are using scare tactics to get u to pay. No debt collector can send the police to your house to arrest u. Don't get sucked in.  First of all, if u owe money they will connect u by mail. It is illegal to call u and demand money. They have threatened me since last November. I hope these people rot in hell.

I got a disturbing voicemail from i guy named jeff who could not speak english at all ans he left a nasty vm and said that he wishes me the best of luck. I finally called the number back then a lady picks up who also cant talk english and told me that i stole 5000.00 and i said i have no idea what your talking about she told me not to talk while she reads my legals papers and said the police would be at my house tomorrow which is 9/27/11 i said what...then she knew my address, last four of my soc. and said that i bank with chase. I dnt know who these people are but this is crazy they need to be stopped before they get hurt FOREAL thats crazy that she knows my info.

Haraasment at work

These people have been calling me non stop for months & I will be getting the authorities involved.  They are RELENTLESS!  They continuously threaten me & has even asked to speak with my employer.  They consistantly tell me that I have charges filed against me & that I will be arrested if I don't give them my information.  Who does that??  MAJOR SCAM!  I guess they're use to backiing little old ladies into a corner & having them pay money for things that they weren't even a part of BUT....I'm not the one!!!   Mark Thomas & Chris Lee from DCA office (that's the alledged name of this company) have called me about 10 times at work today.       .

I received the same message from David Jones advised that there has been a law suit filled in my name.  They call my work and cell phone constantly and have even called my family.  I have the messages saved and will contact the authorities.    They never send paperwork and get upset when you ask for them to send you the information and then they hang up.

I got a message today at my work. Very odd and strange message that was left. The woman that left the message had a very strong accent. I tried calling back the number she left but a machine picks up and says that no one is available right now and then you just hear a quick beep..

She didn't say what it was about but she knew my first and last name and spoke about an attorney and good luck to me if I don't call them back.

I was actually called the number to tell them off and instruct them never to call me at work again.

Got a VM from some lady with heavy accent that I couldn't even understand the name.  Call back to 646-543-9197 me or my attorney and she was real sarcastic at the end of the msg- Best of luck to you. I have no idea what this is for.. Also the phone # shows up on my cell phone as "0000".
